Are walking pads noisy?

I jeed to bite the bullet and buy a walking pad I think.
The weather is just horrendous here (scotland) and when I don't hit my steps I just give up with my diet.

Any recommendations?
Are They really noisy?

Sorry, never heard of one, but goggle says its a treadmill without the handles. Surely you'd need to check which specific one you are interested in and check the dB they advertise it as. I'd assume each brand and each type will be quieter or louder to others.

When I can’t hit my target steps, I put an easy watch on the television and jog on the spot while watching. I can do about 1000 steps in 5 mins, so they soon mount up. Just a thought.

Definitely have to turn the volume up on the tv if I’m going for a brisk walk on mine, but just bimbling along slowly when I’m WFH and it’s not too bad. No complaints from the neighbours (have only used in a semi & a detached house… downstairs in a flat might not love it so much!). HTH!

Have you tried the YouTube walking workouts? A much funner way to get your steps in I find - can particularly recommend 'get fit with Rick'.

Give it a try before you fork out for the walking pad.

It wasn't too noisy, but your own steps are loud on it so you do need to turn up the volume a bit if you're watching something, or wear headphones. However....DH's study is below the room where our walking pad used to be and he could hear me walking in one place and it drove him mad. So we moved it to another room on the ground floor so it wasn't over anyone's head.

They are a little noisy- DS says that the noise isn’t an issue in meetings, but he wobbles on screen as he walks so doesn’t do it for that reason. He does watch videos on it and it’s helped get his steps up.

For the rest of us, we don’t get noise as such, but it’s as though the house has developed a heartbeat. It pulses. It’s ok, it’s not disruptive, and I’m really sensitive to noise and distraction. My DC claim I have super senses and know what’s going on when they are oblivious- but the pad doesn’t bother me.
