Effective aerobic training ideas, please

I go to the gym 3 times a week at least, mostly to lift heavy weights or incorporate strength training. I do try to weave in skipping as a cardio thing.

But I notice my thighs and ass are gaining fat/weight, which is as much to do with diet (I do really try and don't think I eat a lot of cals) as well as prob not doing aerobic training as much as used to.

I have a bit of a crap knee. Any suggestions for how I can easily incorporate aerobic training into my week - and the best sort of shorter, focussed sessions? I'm post menopausal, so don't want to increase my cortisol levels.

Maybe investigate Zone 2 training? It’s the current fad but actually it’s a training technique that’s been around for ages. Have a look at “jeffing”.

Otherwise, I always find light sled pushes can be quite aerobic - only load about 60 kilos and then do 20 pushes (10 m track) so up and back 10times without a break. Strength and cardio training!

That's really helpful, thanks
