I’m short of space but looking for a treadmill/walking pad. I definitely won’t be running on it.

I have seen a few folding ones. Anyone have one? Would you recommend?

We have a branx cardio pro. It folds upwards. It’s great for walking as you can change the incline for more strenuous exercise. Are you not running because of pelvic floor issues? I find holding onto the sides when jogging takes some of the pressure off those muscles.

I have the Home Fitness Code walking pad, it goes up to 10km/h and slides under the bed. I use it a lot, it's very handy.

We have the Dynamax one. It folds but is very heavy.

I have a Nordic track and Ifit. I do quite intense running on it but on lazy days the Ifit allows me to do decent incline walks and sets the speed/incline which I like. It folds - but even then it is huge. But it’s robust and doesn’t shake when I run - which the less robust ones do.

Whatever you do don’t get any treadmill one off amazon. Go direct to the retailer - Amazon are dodgy as hell when it comes to delivery, setting them up (if you want that) and guarantees. They’ll wiggle out of it every way they can

No just dodgy knees!

I've got a Walking Pad CS2 and I love it. Folds up nicely so that I can store it under my sofa. I did get mine from Amazon and had no issues with delivery but there wasn't much set up to do ... so wasn't relying on the delivery folk to do anything other than shove it through the door.

Is it heavy?

Heavy-ish. It has wheels on one end but it is heavy to move. That being said I can move it (with some effort) by myself.

Just looked at this one and it says it can’t be used on “thick and plush” carpet. I guess that’s the same for all of them - they operate better on hard floors. Does anyone use one on carpet (mine is flat woven if that makes any difference)?

Blondeissimo · 21/06/2024 19:53

Yes, mine is used on carpet... it's not thick, plush carpet though. Has a flatter tuft but treadmill works fine on it.

everycowandagain · 21/06/2024 23:02

I think you can put a mat down on the carpet, I bought one with mine.
