Just can’t shift the belly fat!

I am 59 and pretty fit. Do a mix of body pump and yoga 3 -4 times a week. Walk a lot with my dogs. I am very much in the healthy bmi range. I noticed this week just how toned I’ve become and I’m really pleased. Been religiously going to the gym and eating healthier so it’s good it’s paid off.

BUT I still gave a squishy belly. Too much fat around there. Just can’t shift it. I know you can’t spot exercise it away but I don’t really want to lose weight either. It’s only there I need to lose it but I know if I diet I’ll just look gaunt and pretty sure you can’t spot Diet either.

Any suggestions?

Ha! I should have done a search actually as a lot of people ask this question! It’s clearly a common problem.

Me too x

Me too! I lost two and a half stone doing low carb but still have fat on the belly, I can’t lose any more weight as my face is too thin and is starting to look old. I saw a surgeon about a tummy tuck but she said the fat could come back, so no point in paying 8k for that.

I think some people just carry weight in different places. I always felt my stomach was podgy even when I was very slim. I now wonder whether there was much fat there at all! Toning the area can help. You can't spot reduce fat as you say.

A few years and 2 children late I definitely have a bit more to lose, mainly from my middle.

I have the same issue. I've started
drinking apple cider vinegar every morning and that seems to have helped although am counting calories as well.
