Workout leggings that don't fall down?!

I've recently started Couch to 5K and the only thing ruining it (apart from the urge to want to die every time I run) is my leggings keep falling down so I'm having to pull them up every 30 bloody seconds!

Any suggestions for ones that actually stay up 🤣

Do they have a drawstring inside the waistband? I have a pair of Karrimor running leggings from Sports Direct and they stay put with the drawstring done up.

This. They're my favourite ones and cheap, too.

Sweaty Betty, expensive but genuinely last forever and never lose their elasticity.

LondonGrimmer · 25/04/2024 14:56

Never had Sweaty Betty so just had a look on their website, and they have some half price, so only £44 a pair. But some of the most recent reviews aren't good, saying the quality has gone downhill and the material is now thinner?

Lululemon.

GrandColombier · 25/04/2024 15:31

Lululemon Fast and Free are my favourite. Expensive but worth it.

But like others have said it's the drawstring in the waist which is key.

Sweaty Betty Zero Gravity as they have a drawstring (powers do not). I have almost non existent hips so anything else slides down when I run (especially if I put my phone in the side pocket).

All my pairs of Powers have a drawstring, including my most recent ones.

If you have leggings you like, but they don't have a drawstring (which is essential imo), you can add one to most leggings super easily by snipping two small slits about 5cm apart on the inside of the waistband and then threading a cord (a bootlace will do) through. Just knot the cord when washing them else it falls out. Since I have been doing this, I just bought a big bundle of drawstrings on ebay which also solves the eternal losing them issue as well

I ended up just going looking round Tesco while doing the food shop and tried their active range ones on.

They're fab! They've lasted me 3 runs without falling down so far! Super cheap too.

I'm gonna grab some drawstring ones for my Parkrun and then will treat myself to some Sweaty Betty's as a well done to myself :)

Thanks everyone

The marks and Spencer good move range is pretty good and not too expensive either.

Don't tell everyone, they'll sell out 🤣

I spent years trying to find decent gym leggings that didn't fall down, roll up, go see through when you bent over. The M&S Good Move were the best by far.

My sweaty betty power legging do fall down. The drawstring is rubbish as it gets in a tight knot and is a headache to unpick when I just want to get undressed.
I thought they would be the holy grail in the changing room but they aren't that great in practice.

wpalfhal · 30/04/2024 09:54

I just have the adidas 3 stripe ones, they don't fall down. I suspect size of leggings and body shape has more of an impact tbh. I have sweatty Betty power leggings, they're very comfortable but they do fall down now, I think they're just a little big for me now though, they're fine when I start a regime 😂

loveacuddle1 · 27/05/2024 18:51

Another vote for sweaty Betty. I get them from the clearance section- as I’m not too bothered about colours etc

Muchtoomuchtodo · 27/05/2024 18:56

My Karrimor ones from Sports Direct are the best at staying up and the most comfy

Confortableorwhat · 27/05/2024 18:59

You need actual running tights from a running brand. Asics, Brooks, Ron Hill, with a tie waist and a zipped pocket

shearwater2 · 27/05/2024 19:04

Decathlon Kalenji. Great for running, yoga, gym, anything.

ginoclocksomewhere · 27/05/2024 19:44

I always loved Sweaty Betty- I've had 3 pairs of zero gravity leggings for 5/6yrs and they're still going.
The last two pairs I bought (each within the past year) broke within a couple of months. (They did stay up though 😏).

Mynewnameis · 28/05/2024 10:14

I got some m&s pairs a few weeks ago and they are great. Much better than the ones I have from there from a few years ago. I'll probably buy them above sweaty Betty now. £60 price difference
