How much is a PT where you are? I'm with pure gym in the North West and toying with the idea but scared to ask how much....

I don't get my nails done, get injectables and get cheap haircuts so it's my main indulgence for myself and it's really changed my body but also been great for my mental health. Worth every penny.

Snap. I told mine what I wanted to achieve & she’s brilliant.

I’d be looking at £39 per hour if I booked 5 sessions.

Is once per month worth it? That’s what I feel I can afford. I’d want a plan (progressing each month ideally) specific to my needs and a full run though to check form. Maybe weekly for the first month then monthly?

I started off weekly & gradually stretched the PT sessions out as I got more confident.
For me, having PT sessions every 3 weeks or so while following her plan in between means that I feel held accountable, and that she’s able to see how I’m doing & update the plan accordingly. Monthly would also work fine.

My plan has 3 workouts on it which I rotate between, and I move to heavier weights when I feel ready.

I've been seeing my PT for years and years, so he may be doing me a discount, but not sure. He has his own gym, and I block book 10 sessions for £330. I now tend to go fortnightly (sometimes ramp it up to weekly before a holiday 😁). He also used to do a circuits class weekly, but he stopped that in Covid and never went back, so I do a different boot camp class twice a week now when I can.

I find spreading out my sessions is fine, the sessions themselves keep me accountable in between, but inevitably, I see much better fitness when I go more frequently.

£35 where I used to live (70 miles outside London). My son is just starting out and he is charging £20/hour but at a gym with use of equipment there. The £35/hour was just with what she could cart around in her van and most PTs that go to your home expect you to have a certain amount of equipment (dumbbells/kettlebells etc).

I use a PT through Simply Gym in S Wales - £250 for 10 sessions I train 3 times a week but only see the PT once a week. I hav only recently started strength training so wanted to be sure which exercises I needed and how to make sure I was doing them properly.

£57.50 p/h or £50 for a block of 10 paid in advance. They have a studio, SE London.

Just realised how expensive mine is. I do live in the Channel Islands which is a very high cost of living area. 30 mins is £35.50 if I buy 12 sessions and 60 mins is £56.50 if I buy 12 sessions. I also have to pay my gym membership on top. I try not to think of the cost and just think of the benefits to my health, my PT provides me with the accountability that I just find I lack without them. I realise I am incredibly lucky to be able to afford to pay this during a cost of living crisis.
