Running shoe advice - Hoka cliftons

Have been running in Hoka Clifton 9's for about 7 months and quite liked them for 5/10ks. The last few months I've been upping the distance to 15k+ and I've started getting blisters on the inside of my arches the last few weeks. I can't tell if it's just because they are worn and time for a new pair or if it's also down to the Hokas not being too good on longer distances? Happy to buy a new pair either way, I just quite liked these trainers so trying to figure out if it's the shoe or just worn out and buy another pair of the same. Although I can still run 5/10k with no blisters and I did run maybe 2/5 longer runs with no blisters so just not sure. Any other suggestions for similar shoes are welcome. Thanks!

Hoka are very narrow compared to other shoes and may be rubbing as your feet swell a bit when you run further. Asics or Saucony May be worth trying

I did the London marathon last year in Cliftons and found them really comfortable. However I have wide feet so had the wide fit rather than the standard so maybe et that checked?

Also different shoes have a different fall which affects the support they give to your arches so you need to get that checked too. I have very high arches which is why cliftons work but for example I can't bear wearing Brooks even to stand in as they really don;t work with my arches as the fall is in a completely different place. Best thin t do would-be to go to a local specialist running shop and get your gait etc looked at. If you can get to London I'd recommend RUn & Become at Victoria who will spend 40+ minutes making sure you have the right shoes if necessary.

Thanks both, I did actually go to a gait specialist when I bought these who said I didn't really have any issues and was more what I liked. I tried on ghost, nikes and sauconys there and didn't like them so left empty handed and bought the Hokas which I have enjoyed. I did longer runs/ half marathon training a few years ago using brooks ghosts and they were fine but just so clumpy and I felt slowed me down. I maybe need to go to another shop with a better selection and try a few more. Just annoying as the Hokas have felt great until the last few long runs and don't want to invest in a new pair for them to keep giving me blisters 😬 thanks for the shop recommendation but sadly I'm in Scotland!

Maybe change your socks. They may be the problem, not your shoes. Wright Socks are good for blister prevention l

Another hoka clifton 9 wearer here. I love love love running in mine, and wearing hillys marathon fresh socks makes them even better.
