Tell me about prescription swimming goggles please!

I've never worn one and not sure if want to bother to try it in a shop or prefer just order online.

When I looked online, there are way too many choices! Price range is not wide, but what are all those differences?

Can someone tell me what to look out for and which features are desirable?

I have a smallish head and lowish nose bridge.

They're great! I mean, they won't be as good as your actual glasses but it's much nicer being able to mostly see. I bought from Here and went for the cheapest ones that let you have a different prescription for each eye.

@Merrow , did you find it fit well?

And any anti-fogging feature?

I found they fit fine. I mean, goggles are never the most comfortable things in the world but I had no problems with leaks. I didn't get ones with anti fog and they do fog up, but I never remembered to do tricks like putting in fairy liquid. You've now tempted me to buy anti-fog ones, which I hadn't realised were a thing!

@Merrow I knew the feature because my DC's goggles have it. :)

On the other hand, fogging up is still a problem with my own glasses. I think they probably have the feature to offer. But my prescription is so strong that I probably just skipped it to save £££ 😂

I definitely have anti fog on my glasses and they still steam up! My prescription is likewise very strong, so everything is already so ridiculously expensive that I get the extras because they seem such a pittance in comparison...

I use the Speedo Mariner prescription goggles as you can get a different strength prescription for each eye.

I have had prescription goggles in the past from the website @Merrow linked, and Watersports Warehouse. I found that I needed to refresh the anti fog coating fairly often with a little spray you can get. I've played around with a few pairs for fit, and find that the branded ones tend to fit best (Speedo, Aquasphere). Vision isn't as good as with glasses, and obvs, you only get your distance prescription. I think varifocal goggles might be a little OTT!

I have prescription goggles from the link above. I think they were about £25/30 and they've been great. I can now see if the steam room is free while I'm swimming and not squint at people

Don't think they have any anti fogging or anything on them.
