I want to dance but..

So I love dancing but struggle to get out to all the classes I want to because I have the children, 3 of them. I juggle it here and there and manage to do something, it's like my go to for healing from a recent separation and I neeeed it!. Does anyone else have this issue? More so with urban styles of dance, I can find Yoga and Pilates everywhere ballet contemporary whilst kids are at school but more urban styles, hip hop freestyle, African / Caribbean dances not so much during the day, they operate at night and and are not child friendly. If you've found one let me know! I'm half thinking to start something that's kid friendly.. (I do teach dance) but interested to hear from other mums like you guys who can let me know, if there was such a class what would make you come as a mum, especially if childcare was taken care of and what would you be reasonable to pay? If the childcare also had the option for tutoring for the older children or just playing whilst mum danced would that be appealing? Honest opinions very welcome. Want to give some other dancy mums who need healing... like me a break..

I'm not much of a dancer but when my kids were younger I used to wish for adult and kid exercise classes that ran in the same place at the same time. So, e.g. kids go do ballet whilst mums do yoga. I wouldn't've minded what exercise it was really. Ideally I'd've preferred something 'enriching' for the kids rather than child care, but again, I wouldn't've been too fussy what exactly.

Dancing in front of Top of the Pops re-runs!

As you also teach dance, I'd definitely look at hiring a space and starting your own class. You've identified a gap in your local market - so why not give it a go. You don't necessarily need to turn a profit if your aim is just to have an opportunity to dance yourself, you just need to cover expenses! Lower class costs might appeal to more people.

Or you could run it as a charity class - any profits go to a charity of your choice, you might get more interested that way.

Or run it as a business and bring some extra income in.

But go for it OP! You'll be great.
