Should I be doing more?

I'm trying to lose the Xmas weight and am doing more than I have done in ages.

My plan looks like this...

Monday: School run totalling 4 miles on foot. Not the fastest walk with the kids but better than driving.

A half an hour run or a half an hour run or walk followed by 90 minutes to 2 hours in the gym solely lifting weights and strength training.

Tuesday: Another 4 mile school run, work on my feet for about 6.hours, home for a bit to do a few jobs then a half an hour run or run/walk.

Wednesday: School run and work
Thursday: School run and work

Friday: Only one way of the school run so 2 miles total, work then the gym for another 90 minutes to 2 hours followed by another half an hour run or run/walk.

Saturday: The gym for the same times as previous and a run the same time as previous. General day to day pottering plus some lounging.

Sunday: Currently just day to day pottering and lounging for the whole day, maybe go for a family walk for half an hour but it's all very sedate. I am thinking of upping my runs to another half an hour if I am able.

My weight lifting hits all of my body over 3 days and everytime I complete my set I go heavier the next time. Eventually I will stall but I'm not there yet.

I am limited to time because of work, the kids and the husband but I could always use the exercise bike on the days I don't exercise if the husband is out, kids are old enough to watch TV whilst I'm in the garage.

I've reduced my calories by 400-500 a day as well although I might up them more because I'm starving! I need to lose 1.5 stone to be at my target weight. I'm technically overweight by a kg and want to get back to how I was.

I lost weight end of 22 and into 23 doing a lot less but I'm now a year older and weight loss always gets harder the older we get.

How long since you reduced your calorie intake? Has there been time for your routine to work? A kg is not a lot to lose.

It'll be more about what you eat than the exercise.

Whether the reduction is enough really depends what your intake was to start with. You shouldn't really need to be hungry, you can eat loads if it's low calorie, it can still fill you up.

You need to lose 1 and half stone to be at your target weight, but are only 1 kg overweight. I’m confused why you’re trying to lose the 1.5 stone then.

I fluctuate 1kg from day to day, it's neither here nor there. Do you mean losing 1kg brings your BMI down "to normal weight" range, but you are normally at the lower end of normal?

Yep that's exactly it.

Last Monday I was 60.8kg which for my height puts my BMI at overweight by a smidgen. Losing a kg would put me at the top end of healthy.

However I look and feel better at around 50-53kg because lower half aside I have a small petite frame and features. Hence why I have more weight to lose.

I'm conscious of the fact that I'm in a battle between eating enough to keep lifting heavy and running and eating less to lose weight.

My problem is that food tastes too nice and I'm not willing to give up everything so I eat less of it but even a lower amount of cheese still has more calories than an entire broccoli!

Trying to keep my protein levels high too because of the lifting but again its a battle. I can't seem to hit protein and fibre within my calorie range. I tried cutting out carbs but it made me miserable and I struggled to go full on keto, even root vegetables are a no go which to me is stupid.
