spartanrunnergirl · 20/12/2023 17:33

I am so fed up with facking sports bras that are a workout in themselves to get on!

Any recs specifically for RUNNING? I already have shock absorber ultimate run and enell also. Currently being stalked by Maaree on socials and wondering if they are any good?

I like the panache wired sports bra from bravissimo. I'm a 30ff, and I run half marathons. I've got three of them... the underwire popped out of my newest one this morning - serves me right for machine washing it, but life is too short to hand wash your sports bra every day.

AuntieStella · 20/12/2023 22:02

I had the Panache before I lost weight (for sports other than running)

Then the ShockAbsorber Ultimate Run bra - which does have a top clip, but I don't find it fiddly. Panache doesn't have one

ohyesohyesoh · 20/12/2023 22:39

32gg here , always have the Shock Absorber high impact bras. I've never found another brand quite as secure

bananablues · 20/12/2023 22:48

Shock absorber & panache are both decent brands for running. But I do use the Maaree ones as well (have about 3) as they are decent & hold everything firmly in place but are also easy to get on and off & last quite well. They do discounts quite frequently so worth beeping an eye out.

I'm on my sixth sports bra from George. I'm a 34E, and run in these bras among lots of other types of exercise.
They are the ones that zip up the front.

They quickly sell out in my size so every time a new colour comes out I buy it, so I now have a nice collection as I wear one more or less every day

Wow, they look good value. Why don't they go down to a 30 back?!! At that price though I might just try a 32.

florenceandthemac · 21/12/2023 09:13

Definitely worth a try, I’ve never thought to by any other bra since finding these

spartanrunnergirl · 21/12/2023 18:23

Ohh @florenceandthemac I think I read about these here before and you have reminded me.. I'll give them a go. Off to bravissimo tomorrow too to see what they have also

I’m a similar size to you and have some high impact ones from decathlon. They are non wired. For the price I was very impressed. Definitely better than my shock absorber. You can make the back into a racer style for extra support too.

Bit radical but can swerve in and recommend looking at the breast reduction thread in AMA
irs a big deal but I can’t tell you how amazing it is to not have to deal with all this crap.

safetyzone · 22/12/2023 17:08

I have Maaree bras and I rate them, they're very secure. But I have much smaller boobs.

SylvieLaufeydottir · 23/12/2023 12:00

I'm highly sceptical of the Maaree for the simple reason that the "before" other brand sports bra they put in the ads is always way too small in the cup and big in the back, so no shit it doesn't provide support. Then when their model jumps in the Maaree, she's clearly still experiencing a lot of movement. Just less than in a bra that was providing no support whatsoever.

The Panache wired sports bra is the one I've heard the most positive reviews on for running in the big-busted.

Orangello · 23/12/2023 19:56

Breast reduction, really? If someone is looking for comfortable running shoes, we don't recommend that they chop their toes off instead..

OP I haven't tried Maaree, quite pricey. A brand called Syrokan, sold on Amazon, has some decent options. Some look suspiciously similar to well known brands, I have to say, but I have a few and they provide good support.

These look good thank you @Orangello

I think a breast reduction is a wonderful thing for those who need it, but I love mine, just need to contain them when running!

I have a maree. But I also have smaller boobs i do like it alot. But ultimately I have found the trick is to double up. So I wear a sports bra and then a other sports bra or sports top with support over the top. I find it much more effective than just the bra on its own.

Mochacino · 28/12/2023 23:58

I did love Syrokan until they messed with their recipe and subsequent models just weren’t the same.
I can’t go past the Adidas ultra alpha range but they aren’t the easiest to get into infairness.

dementedpixie · 31/12/2023 12:39

I like the panache ultimate underwired and get them from bobbydoo or brastop whenever they are on offer. They have a clip at the back so you can make them into a racer back too. I wear 36GG

dementedpixie · 31/12/2023 12:40

TheSeasonalNameChange · 31/12/2023 12:55

I'd also recommend the lululemon enlite bra. Expensive but so so comfy.

RunningAndSinging · 01/01/2024 17:38

I like the Maaree but am more like a 36E. It does rub a bit where the clasp meets at the back though.

Freya make great wire free sports bras. Mine has 3 hooks as it is an F cup but I'm wobble free when running or bouncing.
Not cheap but as wire free lower risk in the machine.
For PP I recommend a bra washing shaped bag thing. Game changer for delicate wired bras.

bally100 · 03/01/2024 15:07

I have tried pretty much all of the bras listed above, I'm a 32E/ 30F. Runderwear Power running bra is amazingly comfy and superbly supportive. More so than the Panache wired which is supportive but a killer on the shoulders in the racerback I find. I get mine at KnockerLocker and they are currently on sale :-)
