Weight/resistance training without irritating music

I'm early 60s, walk a lot and do a weekly Pilates class, but really need to do some sort of weights/body weight/ resistance training especially for upper body.

In the past I did Jillian Michaels, and earlier this year tried Caroline Girvan iron series with weights about 1/3 of hers. But I can't bring myself to face that music again... can't turn off the sound as I need the instructions.

So - can anyone recommend someone who doesn't use music or at least not such irritating pounding or jangly stuff?

Thanks!

Liftwithcee has some "go on your own" videos where she's telling/showing you what to do but you pause while you do your reps - no music

I like her 30 min whole body videos - there is music (I put pips in & listen to something else!) but it's much quieter than her speaking.

Fitness blender used to be good for music free workouts

Thanks, I'll take a look.

I think I'm hoping to find something that's a structured series similar to Caroline Girvan, I'm not sure I've the discipline at the moment to do my own pick and mix iyswim.

SWEAT includes resistance and I think you can choose your own music or none

Another vote for Fitness Blender! They're down to earth, gimmick free, and have a wide variety of free workouts available for all levels - from very accessible to very challenging! You can also pay for membership or purchase programmes so each day is planned out for you in advance.

I’m really liking Lynne Ward (website is Pepper Hustle) at the moment. There is a little bit of background music but it’s unobtrusive and fairly soothing. Her challenges are excellent and she is pretty laidback and not too annoyingly upbeat 😀

The Caroline videos I have done, she only talks a bit in the beginning and that's it, could easily turn the sound off without losing anything.

Heather Robertson on YouTube. Music is inoffensive and she doesn't talk too much either.

Whoops, lost sight of the thread... the series I can see seems to be 'metcon' which I don't think is quite what I'm after at this point.

I'm being too fussy... spoilt by my lovely Pilates instructor who does the right amount of talking with no background jangling or thumping.Grin

Absolutely this.
I typically listen to yesterday's Women's Hour.
No one better or more effective than Caroline.

Search a bit further on YouTube, maybe her latest stuff is metcon but there's definitely some simple 20/30 minute dumbell workouts in there. I did loads during the Covid lockdowns.
