Running when pregnant?

This has probably been asked before but I’m 7 weeks pregnant and really worried about going running. Since I found out I’ve only been a couple of times, the first was ok but second I had a tiny bit of spotting after. That’s not unusual for me tbh as I have an ectroption but I’ve got a fear that everything is going to fall out with the jiggling!

Before I was pg I was running 4 or 5 times per week. Im really tired now so don’t have the energy to go far, but would like to retain a bit of fitness and I think it will help with my other problem of constipation!

I think the problem here isn't that you will harm the pregnancy, but that if the pregnancy doesn't succeed (let's face it, about 1/4 don't), that you will blame yourself for that. You don't want the WhatIf feelings.

I ran thru pregnancy but I have a different attitude to m/c (which wasn't threatened anyway).

Is there another way of keeping fit that is about rigorous/fun that you could switch to, like spinning or ...?

Do what you're comfortable with.

My body just wasn't up for exercise. I had crushing exhaustion/ nausea that segued in to SPD that gradually severely compromised my mobility. I earned my fitness back after both births.

Hey OP. I am 20 weeks and run roughly 3-4 times per week. 20-30 minutes each run.
If your pregnancy is low risk and reduced risk of miscarriage then running is safe. Especially as you are already a runner.
If you do run, be sure to stop and get abdominal pain, cramping, chest pain, and bleeding with a health care professional.
Try to reduce sessions that are less than 45 minutes. You have had some fuel beforehand and are well hydrated. Try not to overheat as baby cannot regulate their own temperature.
Try to run on even surfaces and reduce the risk of falls.
I am running slower. Roughly giving it 7 out of 10 and making sure I can breathe easily.
It has been weird running recently as I can feel my uterus and baby, all is well and low risk at present.
Exercise is great in pregnancy and reduced risk of hypertension, pre-eclampsia, operative deliveries, body aches, and pains.

I'm a runner. My first pregnancy sadly ended up as a miscarriage. I know now totally unrelated to my running, but I was paranoid so when I got pregnant 3 months later I switched to swimming throughout that pregnancy. All was well, great pregnancy and healthy baby. Withy third pregnancy I was less anxious and did run, HIIT workouts, swam...all slower and less intense but still did it. Again everything was fine and baby was healthy. So I think it's totally fine, but understand the anxieties with a first pregnancy!
