Club for overweight people to do sport together?

Have you ever heard of something like this?

If you're overweight, would it be something you'd be interested in?

I'm overweight and I love various sports. I don't join clubs because I'm self-conscious and embarrassed of myself. I would assume there are others out there like me.
I wonder if there were a club / group designed for overweight people (or just aimed at women), would it be successful?

I am thinking of organising one. Every week, get together and do some sort of sport, whether football, basketball, tennis. Change it up every week and gives people a chance to be active together whilst feeling less self-conscious.

I'm not sure a general sports club would work partly because overweight people doing sports / becoming active generally means they are trying to loose weight. So do you ban them when they are no longer overweight?

I've come across things like 'walking football' aimed at older men trying to get fit / active.
And a jogging group who aimed to get people doing couch to 5k.

But I guess all you can do is put the idea out on local FB groups and see how many people turn up.

@Sugarfree23 thanks for the reply. I suppose not a proper "club" so to speak but maybe even a get together, where people can come and go as they please week to week. Something informal.

My friend attends a plus size yoga session. I think it's a great idea.

Sounds like a great idea. I always try to look for beginners classes when I have an interest in things, hoping I'd find them less intimidating than a class where everybody looks fitter than me, but they aren't always available. A few years ago, there was a Meetup group I joined where the organisers just organised some fun games in the park every week – there'd be boules, Frisbee, basketball, rounders. It was really fun. It was a chance to run around and get some physical activity in, and a chance to be a bit competitive if there were like-minded people there that week!
