Running and blisters

I need some ideas. I over pronate so need supportive trainers. I used to have ASICS gt 1000 9 as recommended when I had a gait analysis but these are quite hard under foot. Wanted something bouncier so moved to gel kayano 28 but they are blistering the sides of both feet just behind my big toe. Tried Brooke’s but they have an arch in and I find this too painful to walk on, let alone run.
Any suggestions for an alternative?

Altra are a wider fit in the toe box
(I wear Olympus for trails)

Or try Hokas? You can try for 30 days and send them back if no good?

Also maybe look at your socks? I find merino much better than man made fibre and injini toe socks have kept my feet blister free on long runs

Thank you. Will look at both of those.
Have tried different socks but not merino yet.

As you overpronate, you need a firm arch support (possibly custom orthotics). In the initial period of wearing something with a support, it's normal to be able to feel it - because it's encouraging your foot into the correct position for the first time for years.

As it is, the Brooks insert is fully removable so it can be replaced with an orthotic or other insole - you could have a short arch support and a more cushioned toe area, for example. Good running shoes all have removable insoles.

Are you actually wearing the correct size running shoe, though? It sounds as though the ones that are blistering are too small and a larger size would give more width - or your foot is moving around too much and needs to be stabilised from the heel onwards.
