Why does soreness happen immediately but others the next morning?

Just the title. Just curious really.

I started my yoga work out originally to improve my pelvic floor after giving birth. My physical therapist recommended it after a birth injury. Then I really liked it and decided to make yoga a regular part of my work out.

The first month I focused on my pelvic floor, improving general mobility, and flexibility. My health improved quickly and it was very encouraging. The soreness almost always happened immediately and would be gone by the next day. It felt great because before I couldn't even finish a load of dishes or finish sweeping the kitchen without horrible back pain because of my injury and having to sit down. After just a week of this I felt amazing and had even more stamina before I got pregnant.

So once I felt comfortable I asked my physical therapist about power yoga. She gave me the thumbs up and said to just be careful and to start small. She recommended some videos on YouTube that would be a great starting point.

So I decided to try a short beginners power yoga workout for arms and abs. I didn't feel sore after. So I got cocky. And did another workout.🥲

The next morning I woke up and my abs are screaming.

I regret so many things. Why didn't the pain hit until the next morning? I wish I could take the second workout back. 😂
