Exercise and Anaemia

I've recently being diagnosed as anaemic ( menopause periods) I'm on iron tablets but I'm possibly going to get an iron infusion pending next blood test.

Does anyone with anaemia still exercise or did the exercise make things worse?

no, I couldn’t exercise when anaemic, I could barely get off the sofa.

Is it safe to continue exercising knowing my iron levels are low? The more exercise you do, the more iron you need. That's why doing heavy exercise with anemia can worsen the deficiency, add to your symptoms, and even cause more dangerous, long-term health issues down the line.

I have been more or less the same. I don't want to go upstairs
I started a health diet/ exercise plan in the new year and I think the exercise is the thing that has pushed me over into anaemia.
I miss it though!
I was fitter when I was fatter.
I always thought of anaemia as being a bit run down but this is much worse.

I was diagnosed with anaemia some years ago (perimeno periods but they were always heavy). GP thought i might have been anaemic for years, and I felt well in myself, so she said OK to continue my exercise but listen to body etc.

I was super strict about timing meals, tablets, juice, avoiding tannins (tea and coffee) and oxalic acid etc, and got my iron levels up fast enough to surprise the GP. When they were back to normal-ish, I felt the cold less, could run faster (presumably because that requires continuous output) and felt less tired, but my weightlifting didn't improve.

Yours sounds more severe though so I would get medical advice. And if you feel too tired to go upstairs, my lay opinion is to give the iron a chance to work and don't take any risks. I was also anaemic after childbirth and miscarriage and the lightheadedness was distressing and a little scary when out and about.

During your health condition, better to stay away from workout. Take some more time rest, this will good for your body health.
