Les Mills on Demand vs Body Coach App

Looking for thoughts on each of these apps for exercise at home....has anyone done one/both of them?

I really need to lose weight (about 4 stone) but with two young kids I struggle to find time to get to the gym - exercising at home might be my best bet.

I find Joe Wicks exercise deathly dull, repetitive and hard on the body.

Try looking up Sydney Cummings- she's honestly so amazing, she caters for all levels of fitness in a gently and encouraging way and best of all its freeeeeeeeeee

I'm a big fan of Les Mills on Demand. I got a 30 day free trial and was hooked.
Pros: constant variety and new releases; everything from yoga to weights to cardio classes. Classes range from 30 to 55min; good value at about £80 a year for unlimited use so I don't need a gym membership. Printable challenges to keep you focussed. Very high quality videos and professional coaching. I love the presenters.
Cons: you have to be self motivated but the official Facebook group is a supportive community.
If you want to do heavy weightlifting there isn't so much of that though they have started a Strength Development series.
It's not free.

@nobodygirl2023 the more I read, the more I'm starting to understand that exercise doesn't play much role in weight loss at all. As they say, you cannot out-train your fork... Have a read of Tim Spector's book, Spoon Fed. That's an eye opener. Also Stacey Sims Next Level.

I’m a big fan of LMOD, loads of variety, varying workout lengths. If you wanted to do the pump classes you’d need to buy weights and a step. But there are plenty of workouts with no equipment. As someone else said, you need to be motivated to actually do it, but the workouts are fun and for all abilities. I’d recommend it. The FB group is also a nice

According to several PTs I talk to, they all say very similar re: weight loss; Weight loss is 80% food and 20% exercise. Health is made in the kitchen, fitness is made with exercise.

I could do with loosing a few lb and I know it’s the food that I need to focus on.
(Off to Google spoon fed now….)

I love Les Mills on demand. Used to belong to David Lloyd gym and did the classes there. Over covid switched to the App and haven't looked back.

I do body balance every morning if I can.

You can use Tesco clubcard vouchers to buy it as well. So it was essentially free for me this year.
