Six Pack Revolution - food/shake advice

I start this next week and wanted to do the food only plan, rather than shakes too as I just don’t like the idea of them - but my goodness, there’s a lot of food to prep!

So I might try a shake as a replacement for one meal a day. Can anyone advise which are the nicest? Whether an SPR one or another brand?

If it's any help I'm doing the food only version thinking the same as you to start with and it's been fine. There are quite a few easy things you can make.
Can't help on the shakes as I just don't fancy them!

I’ve done several waves and have one shake a day, usually for breakfast. It is just easier!
The SPR ones are the best tasting. I also like the Optimum Nutrition ones.

The food prep does take a while. The best way is to batch cook and freeze in portions. Also remember quicker options like baked potato with tuna avonaise.
The plus side is that as it’s not a restriction diet you don’t feel hungry all the time.

I hope it goes well for you and you get good results. Mine have been pretty impressive. I’ve gone from size 16 to size 12 and feel so much healthier.

Thank you both! Sounds like you’ve done amazingly well @Dashie

Can I also ask, have you stuck to it 100%? I’m determined to do so and can handle not being able to have lots of nice treats etc but - I’m going to stay with my in laws for a night and I’m wondering how the food will work. The advice seems to be take food with you - but I would feel so rude taking food to someone else’s house and I just think it’d be really awkward explaining the plan to them. Would it really hurt if just for that day, I made the healthiest choices I could based on what’s on offer? I’m a bit scared to ask in the group as I’m worried I’ll come across as uncommitted…

Lol don't ask in the group they will tell you to pack your food!
I went to a wedding and ate salad and a piece of pizza and two beers and the world didn't implode. I think it depends on how often you are doing it (going out, visiting people)

Yes, I got that impression that it’s very much “If you so much as look at a white potato, you’ll put on 2st”!

I think that’s sensible - I have 2 days I can think of that will be tricky food-wise so I won’t beat myself up about not taking a food hamper with me, I’ll just be sensible.

Also, I think I’ll avoid eating out, rather than asking in a restaurant for an off-menu dish of steamed/grilled protein with plain veg….😆

Yes their idea that every restaurant will delighted to do this for you puzzles me. I went to our local curry place and had tandoori salmon which was fine and pretty plain and I didn't feel bad about.

Don't tell anyone but I also sometime add salt to the food as it needs it!

At the end of the day it’s up to you how closely you follow the plan. Eating something off plan may make a difference to your final result but will it be noticeable? Personally I’ve been in a couple of unavoidable situations where it would be very awkward or perceived as very rude to ask for something different or bring your own.
If it’s going to be a long term lifestyle change I think it has to be realistic for you.

Stressingismyhobby · 28/09/2022 17:35

I plan to follow it to the letter throughout the 75 days EXCEPT like PPs say when it would be rude/awkward not to - which I only envisage being a couple of occasions.

As for a long term lifestyle change, I see this as a kick up the arse to shift some weight and then I’ll be much more careful about what I eat in order to maintain it but I don’t think I could stick to a plan like this beyond the 75 days. Do people do that?

WhamBamMam85 · 28/09/2022 17:36

Same here - I can’t imagine eating like this forever!!

I believe they make suggestions at the end for how you can maintain. I'd like to eat more fresh food and less processed stuff after I'm done as I'm enjoying having a fridge full of veggies that actually gets eaten. Diet after will involve cheese though!!
