Best leggings for running

Can I have your recommendations for running leggings please? Not fussed on colour or anything. Possibly would like a small zipped pocket for my key but not essential.

My current ones seem to start slipping down until I've worked up enough sweat to make them stick, as weird as that sounds! Probably the wrong size but if I'm investing in some new ones I'd like your recommendations!

I got some Lululemon's recently and they're brill. Very comfortable, decent thickness, high waisted & don't slip down and good pockets. They were pricey but worth it.

I have the sweaty Betty power leggings but I just don’t like them. My fave are highwaisted gap fit leggings. Two side pockets for phone/water pouch/keys etc. Just great for me.

Tikiboo have a sale on at the moment and I'm really tempted by some of the capri style tights with pockets.

Does anyone know how they fit? I've looked at the size chart and I've looked at reviews but they seem very mixed and conflict each other.

I'm 5' 2" and I'm size 8 in most things, but sometimes XS is too small in some brands and S can be too big in others!

I would advise getting both sizes and trying them. The thing with running tights (and other sport clothes) is that different people have different criteria.
For some it's all about the drawstring or the pockets, for others it's about the length or bum coverage, or stretch or how they fit around the waist.

Sweaty Betty power leggings. Absolutely amazing and last for years. I run 3 times a week and I'm still wearing the same pair I bought 4 years ago, although now they could do with changing so I might treat myself.

They are tight fighting, hold you in, never had any sagging in rolling issues. Absolutely love them.

I'm a 16 in bottom and wear a large, but XL might be my next size (I used to be a 14!).

Decathlon are good on price.

I like Element Karbon.

reigatecastle · 14/10/2022 16:36

You can get Tikiboo cheaper on ebay (and probably other brands too).

According to my view, better to use some free clothes during running hour, because it may be makes your body free and you can easy to run very freely. Sweating issue is easily handle in the free size cloth. In my group, some females are always prefer free size cloth for running not leggings.

If you want to choose leggings for running, try to use cotton leggings, it will makes your body little free.

The best gym wear leggings I've ever worn are from Asda. Honestly! I forgot about them now I'm going to dig to the bottom of the drawer and train in them tomorrow!!

I've tried them all sweaty Betty, Nike. My most comfortable and supportive are Asda and I've had them for years.

minidancer · 03/11/2022 18:29

Sweaty Betty 7/8 power leggings. I'm 8-10 and get xs

Anjelika · 04/11/2022 07:49

I'm an 8/10 and need an S in the Sweaty Betty leggings so I guess it might depend on your shape. I am an apple and XS is way too tight across my middle.

Bestofthree · 04/11/2022 07:56

I went to New Balance and tried on about 5 items and found some.perfect snug one ones (about 25 GBP which still felt a lot!). Also found some Under Armour ones in charity shop which are lovely. Also 80s style shorts :) I feel like you have to go a shopping centre or running shop so you can try lots on. I would not go for a generic shop leisureware range like H&M as they would not have the support needed (for my belly!). High waisted all the way. If I was a millionaire I would wear all lululemon stuff
