Exercising with a fractured foot

Hello all,

I was hoping you may have some suggestions for me! I've been upping my exercise over the last six weeks or so and now find myself with a fractured foot so much of what I was doing isn't possible.

Can anyone suggest anything I can do? I don't want to lose the momentum!

Thanks!

Which part of your foot? Are you in a cast, boot or strapped?
Depending on where the injury is and what treatment you are having there should be lots of options from swimming to seated upper body, and in some cases spin.

Just be careful. I continued to (carefully) exercise through a foot fracture and although my foot was fine , I developed knee /back injuries from holding my body in slightly compensatory ways. I wasn’t really even aware I was doing it.

Swimming so you’re not putting weight on it.

30 minute total body workout with foot in a boot.

A quick Google leads to lots of others or YouTube seems to have loads too! Hope it's better soon!

Ahh you're all right, I'll be good and rest. I've got a boot. Hopefully will be off sooner if i rest!

This is a really good point. I only had a broken toe so I carried on in the gym doing weights but I quickly realised that I unconsciously started to compensate for my broken toe by changing my alignment which caused pain (and injury risk) in other parts of my body. For example, deadlifting triggered unusual knee pain as I wasn't able to plant my feet as effectively as I should.

This is my small advice is better to avoid routine exercise for your foot health. Because now your foot is suffering from health issue, so it needs some more rest, so please take care your foot health first, later wards you can continue your daily workouts.
