Meniscus Tear in Knee, Cortisol Injection and Exercise

I've had the tear since 2019 and have had two injections. Last one was in January 2022 and surprisingly, it's still working for me. What are the best exercises that I can do with the aim to repair the tear? I've seen a lot of online videos, but they're a bit confusing. I don't use a gym, so home exercises are best for me.

Thanks.

You’d be better taking advice from someone who can see your scans/knows what type of meniscal injury it was and can examine you. IIRC not all meniscal injuries are equal in terms of capacity to repair and a 3 yr old one is probably quite different to an acute injury.

Yes, I'd definitely see a physio who will be able to give you targeted exercises. My Dh had a torn meniscus, had surgery about 17 years ago on it, but now has other issues. He's currently trying targeted physio to avoid surgery - at the moment he can't run or even walk very far as his knee gets too swollen, so it's really important to be doing the right things!

Agree, you should self refer for physio.
You need to be assessed and then prescribed specific exercises for your knee.

I was referred to physio originally but they gave me two exercises to do which were very basic and not very effective. I don't see them anymore as they seem to think that my GP can just treat me with the injections as and when I need them.

I have this from years ago. In both knees. Never had an operation. Always wondering if this was a bad idea.

Have never had cortisol injections offered either.
