What weights do you do at body pump?

For me:
Warm up 10kg
Squats 20kg
Chest 10kg
Back 10-12kg (hate clean and press!)
Triceps 2 x 2.5kg
Biceps 5kg
Lunges 10kg
Shoulders 2 x 1.5kg

Plus the bar which is 2kg

I feel like my squats are good but the rest a bit rubbish!

What do you all do?

Are you giving the combined weight on the bar?
I do 2.5 each side - warm up
Only 6 a side for squats (dodgy knees)
6 a side for chest, back
5 a side for triceps if using the bar
2 x 5 plates for biceps
2½ each side for shoulders
I tend to use a single plate on the lunge track

God, you're good!
Working out what my weights are added up.... (bar is 2.5kg so add that to all bar tracks)
Total weights, not each side....
Warm up - 7kg
Squat - 13kg
Chest - 5kg
Back - 7kg
Triceps- 3kg
Biceps - 2 x 2.5kg weights, no bar
Nothing for lunges, I'm heavy enough myself!
Shoulders - 2 x 2.5kg weights, no bar

However, it does depend on the release, I find some easier than others so it does vary slightly.

Can't imagine ever doing 5kg each side for triceps and getting through the whole thing!

If you're talking combined weight then the same as you - otherwise half of what you do! Warm up is 5kg combined though. I do tend to drop down a bit for a new routine though so I can suss it out a bit first.

Depends on whether I've done a PT session before. But normally it's (combined):

Squat: 20kg
Back (RDL, rows, deadlift): 15kg
Chest Press: 12.5kg
Chest Flys: two 2.5kg plates
Biceps: I use two 2.5kg plates without the bar
Triceps: 2.5kg plates without the bar
Overhead Press: high reps 5kg, low reps 10-12.5kg

I also do lots of weight training sessions with a PT.

Oh wow we are all good body pumpers :)

My weights are based on total kg of plates on the bar, apart from the ones I don't use the bar I've put 2 x XXX kg. Maybe I'm not doing too badly :) I just feel I can never increase my upper body weights no matter how hard I try, it's like I've reached my max, whereas with squats I can slowly increase every couple of months (I can sometimes do 25kg depending on the track).

With Pump classes I'm not aiming to be heavy with weights, the high reps and speed mean it isn't the place to be heavy (I see people ignore the instructor about shoulder press and then struggle). I go because it's a fun class.

Free weights in my own time is when I focus on my proper lifting.

Allaboutyou222 · 05/04/2022 23:02

Depends how I feel. Some days I go heavier. It’s not about weight though, it’s repetition, as long as I’m not comfortable I do what I can.
