How to strengthen weaker leg

Just that really. What exercises are best for strengthening a weaker leg? And what sort of reps should I do versus the stronger leg?

I run and do weights to YouTube video routines.

I would do the same weights and reps as both legs to get them even, even if it’s markedly different for both sides.
Do 3 sets of 8-12 reps of lunges (forward, reverse static, suitcase, or curtsy), squats, Romanian deadlifts. These three exercises will target quads, glutes, harm strings respectively. The weight needs to be so heavy that you cannot do more than 10 reps. If you can do 12 reps with ease without feeling that your legs will fall off then you need to increase the weight.

Whatever you do, start with the weaker leg. Do as much as you can. Then match with the other leg - do not do more with the stronger leg. Gradually your weaker leg should get stronger until it matches the other.

One legged exercises with the same weight and reps each leg, eg weighted step ups, split squats and one legged deadlifts

If you have no wounds in your legs, better to do jogging exercise. It will surely improving your body health and also strengthen your legs. Never take long running or jogging in the early stage, because it will affects your foots.

recently had a few physio sessions for a squeaky hip and she advised me to always do equal exercises on both sides.

Yes, it really doesn't work to do more on your weaker side. The best way I've found is to ensure I'm doing an exercise with enough weight (or reps) that it challenges my strong side. And ensuring that I do exactly the same on my weaker side, even if I'm slower or the execution gets a little ragged.

I have a nerve irritation in my left arm (the beginnings of carpal tunnel compression) which makes the muscles a bit weaker. I was doing thrusters the other day - 8 kg dumbbells, squat, and get both dumbbells overhead as you rise from the squat. The right arm was easy, the left arm became weaker as I got through the reps. But this is the way to get my left arm as functional as my right.
