Has anyone done one of these?

I've got my eye on a woman's only cycling week in Majorca.

Just looking for any experience

I do a cycling holiday every year but have always just done my own thing, never done an organised one.

I love cycling abroad in the nice weather - Majorca is wonderful for cycling, especially in the hills. The gradients are pretty gentle and there are some great views.

Thank you.

It does look like an amazing place to cycle.

I did a cycling holiday a couple of years ago (first time) and I loved it!
I booked with Macs Adventure; they gave me the itinerary including maps and booked all the accommodation, gave me the bikes (could have had an electric bike if I wanted it) etc. But there was no formal group / leader, so we could set off when we liked in the morning, stop where we wanted, take our time, and just get to the next accommodation at our leisure. It was a perfect mix of organised, but freedom.
Cycled from Vienna to Budapest, stopping in Bratislava too. It's amazing that you can visit all three cities within one week. I really recommend that trip. They've loads of other options too.

All my holidays are cycling holidays. I’ve done epic cycle tours, just gone in my van and parked up and cycled where I fancy and stayed in accommodation as a base. Going abroad is always good! Why risk the shit weather, shit roads, shit drivers and lack of reasonably priced accommodation here.

If you are the kind of person that needs someone to plan routes, maintain your bike, provide you with a support vehicle and cater for you, then one of those organised trips is a good plan. What you might want to bear in mind though is the ability of the others you are with. They maybe significantly less fit and capable, or significantly more fit and capable. Either way it could spoil that kind of trip as you’ll either end up a broken mess, or climbing the walls as you’ve not done enough cycling. Although one of those trips looks extremely enticing, I think it’d just frustrate me. I’d rather book accommodation, fly my bike out and do my own thing. What with all the route planner apps, and apps where you can use other people’s routes like Komoot and Strava, doing your own thing is really easy. Just upload your favoured routes to your cycle computer and get peddling.

You can look at the Canaries, Calpe in Spain and around Nice in France for other warm weather options. Most cyclists I know head out to Girona or Calpe at this time of year.

Mallorca is a cycling mecca - definitely worth a visit! I've not been myself but a club I ride with has an annual trip there in March/April time, when the weather is perfect.

Those who have been - Do you take your own bike on these holidays?

If not, I know any bikes would be properly maintained but would be concerned about not getting the saddle and handlebars in the right place for optimum pedalling! After I had my own bike properly fitted to me, I had no knee and hip pain at all during or after my rides so wouldn't want to end up with it after a holiday on a borrowed bike.

I went to Kerala with exodus and then Cuba, they don’t charge single supplements and subsequent holidays get 5% discount. Well run and enjoyed both cycling trips

I’ve done diy cycling in Majorca, stayed in hotel/self catering and cycled inland - it’s fabulous

I’ve not used sunvelo myself but it’s highly recommended and they do different speed rides and stick to that speed, not cheap though

I’m thinking of going to majorca. Am hoping to convince some friends to come. I’m too worried to go with one of the companies incase everyone else is loads fitter than me. I can happily cycle 40 miles at 15mph/16mph average but I’m not used to hills at all.

I believe if you have the measurements from your bike fit you can tell the bike hire people this and they will put the hire bike to the same measurement.

QuebecBagnet sunvelo have rides at strict speeds - you can't go faster and therefore you will not get left behind

Duva hotel/selfcatering is good and not expensive if you go with friends, the receptionist sorted the bike hire for me and there are garages to store the bikes in cages undergrounds safe.

Plenty of inland cycling where you can avoid the climbs if you choose. The roads are like icing and the coffee shops plentiful

Thanks, will check sun velo out.
