Does anyone want a hiit / tabata buddy?

I have been doing these exercises on my own for a while now. Usually 20 mins a day with 1 rest day a week. But I would love an exercise buddy. Not necessarily to do the workout at the same time or even the same workout, but someone to motivate and who can motivate me. My friends are either runners or gym goers and it's getting a bit lonely on my own now!

I’m not doing it as frequently as you but I’ve started doing a couple of HIIT classes a week at home. I use an on demand gym subscription for this. I have two small children, so find it useful for fitting around busy schedule. I’m building up fitness after having second baby, I’ll probably add a third class in at some point.

I don’t run, my joints don’t like it! I do spin and lots of walking for my other activities.

2 hiit classes with small children is a huge achievement! My ds is grown up now so I have more time these days but I still struggle to motivate myself sometimes. I have dodgy knees so am not a runner either. I usually do YouTube workouts - Growing Anannas, Heather Robertson, Chloe Ting and anything else that involves no repeats where possible

I always say the best thing about HIIT is that it’s over so fast. Usually at the point where I think I’m going to keel over!

Very True! I have a week off work this week and have just completed a 22 minute workout with 45 mins on and 10 seconds off. The shorter breaks and extra couple of minutes nearly finished me off!

Do you do your workouts in the evening when the kids are in bed?

Usually during the baby’s nap time. The older one is at nursery so I have a decent chunk of time in the day. I find if I leave it to the evening I’m more likely to not do it, and sit eating chocolate instead!

That class sounds wild!

Totally agree. I hate knowing its hanging over me. I much prefer to get it over and done with. The one I did today was by Nobadaddiction. Her ones are usually really good. How long are your workouts normally?
I really want to improve my diet next. I am thinking about following some of the body coach recipes as they look quick n easy with no fancy hard to get hold of ingredients

Usually 25mins, or 45 for straight cardio. I think that’s long enough to keep my interest and also to get the benefit physically.

I liked one of the Body Coach books but can’t remember which one now! It had a good beef stir fry with lime and soy sauce. Diet is not too bad here, we all eat together so it’s a good incentive to have something healthy. Id recommend getting a good soup cookbook - a hearty one can do for dinner, if you add sandwiches or something else.

That sounds like a good amount of time. I am trying to work up to 25 minutes at the moment too.

Home made soup is always good as you can make loads and you know what's in it. I made chunky veg n lentil soup yesterday and it was so filling I didn't need anything else. A soup book sounds like a fantastic idea as I always seem to make the same things. What are your go to healthy soups?

Portion sizes are my biggest problem though. I think I try to match dp and he can eat a lot
