Smaller lunch or smaller dinner

Evening all
I'm trying to overhaul my lifestyle.
I just wondered if anyone has had any luck with weight loss. Did u eat smaller lunch or smaller dinners? I know sometimes I will be hungrier and need to eat more.
I work from home but won't have time to "cook" a lunch.
So my question is, is it better to be fuller at lunchtime or dinner?
Thanks so much

Neither, but until falling pregnant last year I followed an intermittent fasting regime. This was the only thing that had ever worked for me long term. I am 5ft1 so my BMR doesn't give me many calories to play with in a day anyway. I followed 8:16 with my first meal at 12pm

I dont want to do fasting. I believe if my body is hungry then I need to feed it. I need to work on listening to my body better, as in when I'm full. But I don't believe only having food after a certain time

“Smaller” doesn’t always mean less calories tho. You should be aiming to eat enough to be satisfied at both lunch & dinner…although I wouldn’t eat anything too close to exercising.

Count your calories and if needs be make changes to you meals. Meal prep has always been key for me, I generally would make lunches for mom-wed up on a Sunday night and use leftovers for thu-Fri.

Good luck!

I hear you. But I never felt hungry once my body adjusted. Even after my cycle commute. Also it has health benefits traffic.libsyn.com/foundmyfitness/satchin_panda_1.mp3 and I never felt like I was restricting or dieting. I could go out socially and eat the same things as everyone else. But if I had to choose, I'd pick a larger lunch so I didn't get hungry whilst trying to work.

I think some element of fasting can be helpful.
I lost a stone recently through skipping the odd meal, nothing drastic or structured.

I know you said you don't want to fast Grin but I have tried numerous times to lose weight. Being on a diet or regime made me obsess about it and made me want to eat constantly!

To answer your question I'd go for a fuller lunch!

Smaller lunch all the way- a little bowl of fruit etc. Half a plate of salad counts too. I prefer to use leftovers at the weekends but that is me personally speaking here. You could always keep a couple of sandwiches in the fridge to make a quick easy lunch to eat on the go as well. Sandwiches make a great simple lunch to eat any day of the week really along with fruit.

For dinner go all out. A hearty filling dinner could consist of soup, rice the works.

This is the 'exercise' topic

Choosing what to eat and when depends on when you are doing your most intensive exercise, and whether you want to train fasted or not, and you've not included that info.

(If you want to chat about it from the dietary POV, you might feel more knowledgeable/experienced/going through the same posters in the weight loss topics)

Most medical advice says - a good breakfast a good lunch and a light evening meal. Not a big supper/dinner. Medical advice suggests concentrating calories during the day.
