Running gloves and other winter wear

I went for a run today and it was 6c outside, so I wore my new running tights but remained short-sleeved on the arms.

Felt fine most of the time and didn't feel I needed more layers but my hands still felt fairly cold.

Can anyone recommend some good running gloves please? I didn't use to run this early (6:30am), until later this year and I intend to keep it up through the winter months, so what else will I need for a winter run, please?

Thank you.

I have karimor ones from Sports Direct which are nice and for really cold weather I have a pair of much loved SWIX cross country ski gloves for the winter but I live in the mountains and it is properly cold here!

Thanks chateau. I am keeping an open mind but I think I can safely say that where I live probably doesn't get anywhere near as cold as the mountains! Smile

I’ve got loads of fairly cheap stretchy gloves from Decathlon that I run in. I’m often found in gloves and a T-shirt at this time of year as I get reynauds. You’ll need lights and ideally something reflective, a long sleeve thermal or base layer, waterproof jacket and a couple of buffs - good for round your ears, to keep your hair out of your face or seal the gap at the top of your jacket when it’s really cold!

I use Adidas unisex gloves for my running. Always choose good quality products, this will helpful to your running during the winter time. Don't choose the cheap products.

Decathlon have a great cold weather range and take their hi-viz seriously.

Gloves
Light hat (cap also good for rain)
Shower proof jacket
Long sleeve tops
Thermal leggings
Buff/snood

Until it gets really cold, I like fingerless cycling gloves. They're also good at the stage between short sleeves and long sleeves.

I've found that if my ears and hands are warm, then I'm likely to be comfortabkewhatever the thermometer says.

I have thin fleece gloves from Karrimor (unusualmfor me, as I rarely shop at Sports Direct because I do not approve if what I have read about their management practices)

And a rather expensive marino buff, which I wear as an ear-covering headband.

Decathlon is my usual go-to place. And Uniqlo do excellent buffs

I found the best thing for that were sleeves! I mean the ones that are a two tube set, and you wear to cover your arms when in a short sleeve tshirt but it's not cold enough for a long sleeve shirt and/or weather is variable (so all of spring and autumn!) Decathlon do good cheap ones.

Also small and easy to stuff down your tights once you've warmed up
