I hated sports at school too (although quite enjoyed badminton actually), but I am quite active now. I have to do a variety as I get bored easily. So at the moment, I've got access to the Peloton app (I've got a generic spin bike and treadmill at home, plus they do other types of classes, including strength, yoga, walking, barre, Pilates etc etc), I see a PT fortnightly, mainly weights/HIIT kind of stuff, I do a bit of jogging (I've done and graduated C25k several times, and now can usually comfortably knock out a slow 4-5k without training in between), a yoga class weekly, and lots of walking (and pre-COVID, my PT used to hold a weekly circuits class, but that's not been held now since pre-March 2020).
In the past, I tried things like Zumba, which was quite fun, the Shred DVD (only 20 mins, BUT hard. Fast results, but I found it a bit repetitive so lost interest), Yoga with Adrienne (lovely - I always try to do her 30 days of yoga programmes every January), Fitness Blender (great selection of free workout videos that can be filtered down by length, exertion level, muscles to be worked, equipment etc etc, excellent site).
I find I need to feel 'good enough' before going to a class, although actually, I've realised that going to classes, it's not easy for anyone, despite their fitness, as a good class allows you to pick your level to work at. I'm sorry people were horrible to you, I've never known classes to be anything but supportive, I'd hope it's an unusual experience.
Is there anyone you could go to a class with? That's always helped me keep going, and gives me someone to chat to.
