Exercise class dilemma (Covid related)

I attend an outdoor fitness class that's recently restarted as per step 1 of the ending of lockdown (England).
My dilemma is that the class is frequently bigger than the current guidelines of 30 inc instructor and so I'm not sure I'm comfortable to continue to attend knowing the rules are being broken.
To clarify, the class is on a huge sports field so I have zero concerns about safety as there's loads of room to spread out, but I'm worried that if the instructor is breaking the rules here (and presumably invalidating insurance?), where else are they cutting corners.
Do I rebook or not? I've been attending for 3 years and the instructor is lovely but I'm sure if I mentioned my concerns, our relationship would be awkward moving forward.

If the class is socially distanced that's all you need to know.

So the numbers cap is a guideline and not law?

She’d be unwise to do anything to invalidate her insurance, eg if anyone is injured and sues. Only really a concern for you if you’re concerned about risk of that happening to you and wanting to sue, which seems low if you’ve done the class before and know the exercises etc are sensible for the environment.

www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-grassroots-sports-guidance-for-the-public-and-sport-providers:

"Organised outdoor sport for adults and children is permitted with any number of participants, where it is formally organised (for example, by a national governing body, business or charity) and follows COVID-secure guidance."

I don't know if there is other guidance from any sort of governing body.

My very covid-aware outdoor bootcamp instructor told us last week that he could now legally go above 30 (but won't be, because of the area we use and the need to distance).

30 is for Level 3 areas of Scotland. (Level 4 areas, it's 15).

England - can be any number, provided it's a formal class with a qualified instructor.

Personally I wouldn't bother going to a class with more than 30 people - the instructor hasn't got a hope of noticing bad form/problems with that many attendees - but it is allowed as long as you're socially distanced.
