I started running. And have realised that strength is not strength generally 😂🙈

I was always way more into strength training than cardio and loved to lift. I wasn’t very strong but worked on deadlifting 40kg and back squat 60kg. I do kettle bell sessions 3x a week, and frequently go on rides 40+ miles at a time around very hilly south London. So I just kind of always assumed and took for granted that my legs were strong.

But my oh my running is very different on the legs, isn’t it 😂

It really is something different! The thing I always like about running though (i stop and start all the time) is the speed at which you body adapts to it. Even with just a couple of runs a week, after 3-4 weeks you won't believe the improvement.

Grin I was squatting and deadlifting more than my (substantial) bodyweight when I started running (about 3 years ago, was 51). Thought I would die on my first, very slow, 20 min treadmill run. Though it did turn out I was pretty anaemic - I ran much more easily when that was sorted.
