Shoot for the Moon -NHS team effort to reach the moon in miles

I posted about this yesterday but the post was deleted as I mentioned the fundraising aspect and charity posts are not allowed.

I was not posting to fund raise but looking for people to join the challenge.

Participants should be NHS and healthcare staff who are logging miles (running, walking, indoor or outdoor cycling, rowing, skiing, anything!) and happy to log them for a team effort to the moon.

It is running through February and March and the total goal is 238900 miles. If 500 people take part that's 8 miles a day per person. So, obviously 2000 would be better!

Logging your miles is really easy and could help with keeping up motivation as we move from Winter to Spring.

All the details can be found on the Shoot for the Moon #milesforsmiles facebook page.

(Hope this is ok mumsnet, participants in the challenge aren't required to fund raise or donate anything).

Is this to do with Boris Johnson's ridiculous 'operation moonshot'?
Surely NHS staff have got enough on their plates without having to do sponsored runs?

No, nothing to do with BoJo at all!

Lots of NHS staff will still be exercising to look after their own mental and physical health, this isn't about doing extra but logging the miles already being done in a team effort. And of course, it's for people who feel they can do it or want to do it. It's definitely not about feeling pressured to join a sponsored run. The facebook page has all the info.
