Apple Watch or Fitbit Sense? Does the battery life matter?

Hi, I’m looking at getting either an Apple Watch series 6 or a Fitbit Sense but can’t decide! My main concern is that it sounds like the Apple Watch would need to be charged every day which I don’t want to have to be doing? Or would I get used to that? I currently have an old Fitbit and only charge it about once a week! Any advice would be fab thanks.

I have the Apple Watch. I dock it on the charger each night. It was a pain to start with as I had not realised it would run out so quickly, and every so often I let it run out as you do with those batteries.
It’s a nice piece of kit, and as I have the phone and iPad it’s all synced and there are lots of apps to tie in to. It also picks up messages and I can answer my phone via the watch if I need to.
I had an older Fitbit, but the reviews I read suggested I would get on better with the apple.

when i had a fitbit versa/charge 2 i had to charge it every 2 days - my apple watch im about the same
i use my apple watch to track sleeping so charging overnights not an option but usually put it to charge in the evening when im not doing anything

I have the newest versa 3 and charger it once every 5 or 6 days but if you have the display in all the time it will run out quicker. I use mine for sleep tracking and I don't think the app watch does that as well as the fitbit. Plus the fitbit is a lot cheaper. I considered the sense but the extra benefits weren't worth the extra £100

Depends what you want. If you want the extra features the Apple has, then you just put it on charge at the same time as your iPhone every night. You can get double-headed cables that do both at once, or charge stands that hold both. My v5 tends to be around 45% when I put it down, and takes about an hour to charge fully; you can use it as a sleep monitor and just charge it while you're doing bathroom stuff and it'll stay alive forever.

Just checking - you do have an iPhone? Currently you must have an iPhone for the watch to be parented to, though that may change next summer.

I’ve had both and I do prefer the Fitbit overall, mainly for the app and the social aspect of challenges. I have an old versa 1 and charge it fully about every 3 days, I like to know about my sleep and resting heart rate so I wouldn’t take it off at night to charge everyday. I usually charge it when watching TV or something.

I have an Apple Watch (s.4) and it needs charged every night. If I have been using it a lot (doing a long workout and syncing it to HR monitor plus timer plus music) it sometimes gives me a low battery warning mid evening before bedtime. But usually it lasts the day fine.

I'm on my second Apple Watch, I love it! We're an Apple Watch family, and DS will be the last to get one, this Xmas. We all charge overnight, don't feel the need to track my sleep (I'm not really sure what the point is - I know if I've slept well or not). I like being able to receive text, WhatsApp and Messenger messages, take calls if necessary, but it's big thing for me is for exercise tracking. I like the triple ring daily goals, plus the monthly challenges it sets me, and the odd random challenges as well. And linking with friends and seeing their activity levels spurs me on.

Priori to my first Apple Watch, I had a Fitbit Alta, and I liked it too, but much prefer my Apple. Also the decision was a bit easier for me - I get a discounted Apple Watch via my health insurance, and tracking my activity pays for the majority of my watch (I need to do a certain amount of activity every month and the insurer contributes to the monthly watch payment. In nearly 4 years and 2 watches - each contract is for 2 years - I've not had to pay anything other than my initial deposit 😁).
