I've decided to up my cardio; spin is not my class of choice but I know it's a great calorie burner. I'm at the end of my second week (2 x classes a week) and feeling a difference already but OMG my fanjo Shock I'm using a gel saddle which must help; how long until the pain goes?

Your ‘seat bones’ (as they used to be referred to in horse riding circles) will be sore for weeks.

I remember it well from cycling and horse riding.

The gel seat made feck all difference to mine. I bought padded shorts for this very reason. Didn’t help much either. Give it a few weeks and then you’ll not notice.

I’m just glad my bike doesn’t have a gents seat -those things are like sitting on a razor shell.

Oh yep it's the seat bones 😕 Saddle sore, I'll give it another couple of weeks!

We have a spinning bike at home and I've been using the Peloton app. I think they advised it would be about 5 or 6 rides in, and I'd say that pretty much held true (although I then went on a very sedate but longer outdoor cycle and my bits did feel a bit bruised again - although nowhere near as painful as when I started). I hate to think it means my bits are getting all leathery to cope 😂😂.
