Can anyone recommend fat burning exercise for someone with bad joints?

I started Joe Wicks in lockdown and my knees started to suffer. Stopped lunges and that helped a bit.

Moved on to LMOD and the first body combat left my shoulder sore for three weeks and counting.

Pump is running heavy which also aggravated knees Sad

Did CXworx last week and my knee is still in pain from side lunges.

Meanwhile I'm piling on weight again and losing all the muscle tone I had built up.

Would really appreciate any suggestions 😭

I have various medical issues that mean my exercise has to be low impact. Ive been doing BodyPump and BodyBalance since the start of lockdown and six weeks ago started with Team Body Project too - they are fab, honest genuine low impact workouts using their members. They are inspirational. I also use CocoLime Fitness - she is a fitness instructor that developed some autoimmune conditions and had to redefine her entire way of working. She has some vids on YouTube but most are on Vimeo and her subscription is £3.00 a month - nothing in the grand scheme of things.

Oh, and if you do find room for a bike - search "race at your own pace" - they do medals each month that you can work towards, really encouraging! I've done 350miles this month!

I agree with swimming if possible. I did aqua yoga when I was pre & post natal and that was brilliant. I still do some of the exercises, so even if there isn't a class running, you might be able to google some moves to try. The risks of hurting yourself are low!

If you have room, a rowing machine is a thought. DH has dodgy knees and is able to row without ill effects. In fact, he thinks it helps. I prefer to run, but use the rowing machine in bad weather or when I'm short on time.

Skating has very little impact on the joints but is super for both fat burning and muscle building.
