Just that really .
I have a desk job which is very stressful and currently ( covid related and short term) I'm commuting 3 hours plus a day . So basically I leave at 7 and get in at 8 all week . Then have dc to sort and usual stuff and just want to have a massive glass of wine and crawl into bed .
Consequently at 49 I've suddenly acquired a big tummy and gained 10lbs .
On top of that I have arthritis and multiple trapped nerves in my neck and back .... made worse by being sedentary and overweight .
I m after something I can do for 20 mins 5 days a week that night include HIIT as need to lose weight ..... however jumping jacks / planks are out as it would put my neck out .
Love Pilates .
I like am so very unfit it scares me . I was helping dd recently pack her loft and my legs were trembling it upset me .
However 3 years ago I hiked to the top of the conga so I know I can get fitter again with some effort . it's just time and tiredness for me .
I don't mind paying as long as it's reasonable and safe ?
Any recommendations would be great thanks .

Jillian Michaels app is excellent. You can customise a workout to your fitness level and time and equipment.

@tinkerbellx take a look at Leslie Sansone walk at home. There are some free videos on you tube that you could try as a taster.

I don’t have the paid app (because I pay for something else that based on what you’ve said wouldn’t be suitable for you) but I do the you tube videos occasionally.

What I like about an indoor (or outdoor) walking workout is I can just get on and do it quickly. On the app I use, the resistance workouts are ‘only’ 30 minutes. However, by the time I have got changed, set up, warmed up, cooled down and showered, it takes at least 1 hour.

I will go for a brisk walk on my lunch break at work. I don’t get changed, I just go, and that is very easy to do and gets your heart rate in the optimal fat burning zone.

I pay for a subscription to Fiit which has totally turned my fitness around. Hundreds of different classes & exercise plans.

I use Hasfit on Youtube - hundreds of home suitable workouts and I really enjoy the gentleness of their encouragement. Lucy Wyndham-Reid is also great and her 7 min workouts can be combined to build up a length of time that works for you. Again, free on YouTube.

Given your physical issues suggest taking a health professional’s advice on exercise options.

Walking or swimming or ‘rehab’ pilates might be good. Weight loss is mainly diet.

I do Les Mills on Demand. There is a large variety of classes on there from martial arts, yoga and Pilates, dance, aerobics , HIIT, spin bikes to resistance training. The fitness classes are taught at many gyms and I used to do their classes in the gym too. But I haven’t got the time since having DC2, so it’s amazing to be able to do them at home. I have tried Joe Wicks, shine dance on YouTube, Jillian Michaels on DVD, but they aren’t as good as Les Mills.
