Do sweatbands actually help keep your hair dry?!

Sorry as this is an incredibly lame question, but do they actually work or are they just a fashion gimmick?! Even 20 minutes exercise leaves me needing to wash my (thick, unruly) hair and on a daily basis I can't be doing with that! Any suggestions (other than shave head) welcome please...

I think their purpose is more to stop the sweat running into your eyes.

I do not know of anyway to sweat less, sorry!

I bought a bunch of these hygge bands when they were on special offer, they're really good for wicking the sweat away from your hairline so it doesn't drip down your face, but it doesn't take all the sweat out of your hair. I really like them and they are fun designs. It really helps to run with one on and the rest of my hair in a ponytail. I think the offer was something like 4 for £20, so don't be put off by the listed prices, just sign up for the mailing list and they'll email you a special offer at some point.

Sweatpants are designed to stop sweat running into your eyes, they're not going to keep your hair dry :-s

Oops, sweatbands of course!

They aren't supposed to! It's to stop sweat running down your face!

Exactly what previous posters have said... I have to wash my hair after exercise or else it’s flat and smells. So the only thing I do is time my exercise and hair washing, so I exercise before washing my hair, use dry shampoo on mornings when I plan to exercise in the afternoon or evening so I don’t wash it twice in one day. All the bands do is keep the hair out of your face and Stop sweat falling in your eyes.

I have the same issues. The only things that have worked for me are plenty of dry shampoo and lowering my standards in terms of how clean I expect my hair to be.

I co-wash my hair every couple of days, it rinses out the sweat without drying my hair out. But my hair is never "styled"
