BodyBoss vs Les Mills Bodypump??

Anyone got experience with either of these? Interested in starting an at home workout as I'm often alone with my 4 kids as hubby has an erratic work pattern & is away a lot....
I'm not really overweight, have gained a few pounds, but due to no swimming in Lockdown, I'm feeling flabby & unfit. I am walking & cycling regularly. Like my swimming, though it's with kids in tow & I need something more intense than they can manage.

I do bodypump through Les Mills on Demand. Currently doing it at home once I'd managed to source some equipment . What I live about the LMoD is the variety of workouts available to me so I can do whatever I fancy that particular day. I love doing combat, grit. attack & step. There's lots of other workouts too like barre, yoga, dance, cycling and more.
I've no experience of bodyboss, so can't give you a comparison.

Thx nbee...do you need much equipment?

There's loads of workouts on LMoD that can be done with no equipment at all - combat, attack, grit cardio, bodybalance, barre, sh'bam, dance. Body pump can be done with dumbbells but I much prefer to do it with a bar and weights. A step is useful but easy to do without.

I second Les mills on demand. Have loved it during lockdown.

Les Mills (the "Body..." series). Great fun with fantastic soundtracks (and occasionally New Zealand backdrops - a virtual holiday and a workout in one!) . A bit of kit at home is useful but not essential. Combat & Attack are both killer workouts that can be done without any equipment at all.

They also have "How to.." videos for newbies which talk you through the moves in a really attainable way.

OOOH great! Getting excited now. Thx all! Any tips?? Did you all sign up for a long period of time, or do it month by month? Is it easy to cancel if needs be?

There's usually a free trial period that converts to rolling monthly membership/contract. It's really easy to cancel and you have access to the full platform until the end of the paid month, if that makes sense. So if you joined on the 2nd of a month you could cancel on the 12th, for example, and still have access until the 1st of the next month. I do something from it most days and love the variety.

Look out for the instructional videos, they'll give you the basic moves for combat, pump, dance or whatever. I find that if I do say combat or attack that it helps me to stick to doing the same release a few times, the 1st time you feel 2 steps behind and all over the place but once you've repeated it a couple of times you really pick up the moves and can get into it. I love the music, really carries me through the workout. I love that I can do something different as often as I like or stick to the same thing if I fancy it. Most of all I have fun 😁
