Is it possible to tone without loosing weight

Just that really
If I loose even one lb it goes straight from my face and I look awful
My body is ok, size 10 ish
But I would love to look more toned without loosening weight..
I'm asking the impossible aren't I?

just eat more to keep your calories up while you lift heavy weights to build muscle.

Not impossible at all. If you up your eating to accomodate exercise calories (likely only an extra sandwhich a day, don't go overboard!) you'll keep the same fat levels and just add some small amount of muscle.

Lifting weights is your answer here - if you're happy with your body fat, building muscle will add a shapeliness to your figure. "Toning" isn't a real thing, BTW, I think most people who say "tone" mean reducing fat and building muscle but these two variables aren't as closely connected as people think.

Ok complete beginner here
I have some ankle weights that I've been using to do things like leg lifts, donkey kicks, leg raises etc etc (following YouTube videos)
Also have dumbells which I use for arms etc and sometimes hold in my hands whilst I squat (also YouTube videos)
And pilates

Not sure what else I should be doing?

Pleased to know I can change my body whilst not loosing weight as I really look so gaunt if I drop any lower than I am! The videos I have been following (Madfit and live fit girls) explain that you need to loose overall body fat to get the benefits of the workouts so I did question if there is much point

Been busy with kids for years but finally have the time and energy to exercise! Would love to join a gym one day but for now home workouts are all I can do!

Here are some great Instagram accounts of people who show you home workouts with minimal equipment @soheefit @katiecrewe @laurabiceps @madeleychloe @zannavandijk @aliceliveing
Dumbbells are a great place to start, resistance bands are fab as they take up so little space to store and you can adjust tension to make it more challenging when you get used to them, whereas dumbbells are fixed weights so not really that useful when you get used to the weight and need something heavier.
