Can anyone suggest any suitable mats for high impact exercise? Managed to upset my knees...

Do you mean as a floor covering rather than an exercise mat?

Oops sorry - yes, floor covering. I've got a mat but it offers zero support. I've googled and there are lots out there but with mixed reviews, so thought I'd ask here.

I don't think High impact is very good for knees anyway, tbh. Doing anything fast just for the sake of a higher heart rate risks injuries, especially stupid exercises like burpees. I would do slower exercises like lifting weights, single leg squats etc if your knees are struggling and need more muscle to prevent further injury. I have dodgy hypermobile knees and lifting carefully and correctly has improved them and my overall balance no end.

I do quite a lot of HIIT and have dodgy knees - at home I've had to stop some of the jumping around as I can feel my knees twinging again - eg squats instead of squat jumps, step lung instead of jump etc

Thank you both. I was trying to "save" my knees by not running...They're fine when I'm outside doing stupid things like burpees etc but not indoors.
Back to weights I go...

Glad you agree burpees are stupid! I love lifting weights. It's done such amazing things for my knees, I am determined not to get knee replacements when I'm older like my mum had to in her 60s. I used to get knee pain when I'd do an unusual movement (like stand up sideways from sitting) and now I lift consistently, I don't get any pain at all. 💪🏻
