Back injury after Pilates- What did I do? Can't get through to GP

Hi everyone- I was wondering whether I could pick your brains. I usually do 30 mis of Pilates every other day- have been doing it for years but something went wrong yesterday. I only felt the pain afterwards but I'm wondering whether my form for the roll down was wrong. Anyway, I am in great pain. The pain is sharp when when I twist my torso or do side bends. It is in my mid back.

Has anyone here struggled with pain like this and are there any exercise I can do to relieve the pain? I'd like this to heal quickly.

Thank you!

I'd avoid exercising and just take ibuprofen until the pain is gone. The doctors can't do anything, I had back pains for years and different doctors all said there was nothing they could do, I solved my back issues with a combination of chiropractor and the Alexander technique.

If you really want to exercise to get rid of the pain try looking on YouTube for some yoga for the lower back and hips.

I had to stop pilates. I suffered back pain afterwards, when I stopped it was much better. I found a video on YouTube (think it was Bob & Brad physio) and the exercises they said not to do, I was doing all of them at pilates!
I took an anti inflammatory (Ibuprofen) regularly and a daily walk, keep away from strenuous lift and twist stuff, housework and gardening etc.
It can take a long time to heal.
Hope you feel better soon.

I had pain when doing Pilates several times over a number of years. I finally saw a dual qualified physio and Pilates teacher and she said my alignment was wrong so the exercises I was doing were making things worse, hence the pain. I would suggest seeing a physio for an online consultation to try to find the cause of the problem.
