Postnatal exercise

I wonder if anyone could recommend some exercise videos on YouTube please, suitable for postnatal exercise? I’m keen to get back into exercise, but a bit wary of doing too much or the wrong exercises. I had a forceps delivery (7months ago now) and still feel my pelvic floor is a bit vulnerable. I used to do Circuits type classes, and really enjoyed them.

If you have any doubts about your pelvic floor, and can afford to have a quick private check up with a woman's health physio, I'd recommend it. They will be able to check pelvic floor function and give some recommendations for exercise. Obviously you can go through GP too, but it might take a while.

As for other exercise, walking and anything else low impact are good to start with. Also have a look at Femfusion on YouTube. Slowly build yourself up. Avoiding typical core work like planks and crunches to start with - anything that increases pressure on your pelvic floor.

If you find yourself leaking urine at any stage, or start to feel "uncomfortable" down there, dial it back.

If you're used to being quite fit, it can feel frustrating at first, but you'll quickly build back up again.

Oh and don't forget your kegels obviously! The NHS Squeezy app is a good one

Thanks - I’ve had a look at Femfusion and it looks like a good place to start.
