Where do you put your phone when you run???

I'm doing couch to 5k so I like to take my phone with me because the app talks you through what to do, when to run when to walk etc. I bought a phone armband thing from karrimore but its so bulky it drives me crazy when I'm running and it's not easy to get your phone in and out when you want to change music etc. People who run out there — what do you do???

Op if youre doing c25k anyway, why not sign up for one of those sites like race at your pace for a medal at the end of the month? Youd be able to complete 15 miles.

Fern I found that holding a hand around something (phone, water, whatever) meant the muscles in that arm were tenser, which kind of had a knock on effect into my body. I’m not sure if that’s what Auntie meant.

In pocket of my shorts or leggings. I also have an arm strap thing but agree it’s a bit of a faff. Also have a wrist pocket thing from Tiger but haven’t tried it yet.

Oh, I see. I usually have keys and often a dog lead in the other hand, so the phone is the least of my problems.

Flipbelt all day long. Got a bad burn/chafe from a cheaper belt bought on Amazon.

WaitingForAGovernment · 11/08/2019 22:55

Running belt. But if he sodding thing won’t tighten far enough (I’m only a size 10!) and is a pain to get the phone in and out of (the waterproof lining somehow makes it sticky and awkward). So it’s not great, but better than no phone and house keys.

Lidl leggings with a thigh pocket! Best leggings I've got too (not at all see-through).

Running belts just work their way up to my armpits no matter how tight or loose they are. Pockets on a top bounce around.

Lidl leggings are my favourite.

And yes to the PP who suggested Race At Your Pace. It's really motivating. There's also Virtual Runner who do similar but each entry includes a charity donation.

Running belt or pocket on leggings if avaliable.

No room in my B cup bras Grin

Flipbelt. Love it. Holds phone, tissue, keys, bank card, folded shopper, so I can do chores/get a bus home etc. Makes it much easier to fit runs in.

megletthesecond · 19/08/2019 12:42

Ms I'm so glad someone else tags chores onto a run.

I have a nice 5 mile route that ends in a supermarket. I pack a couple of small bags in my running backpack and treat the walk back with heavy shopping as my weights routine Grin.

MsMartini · 19/08/2019 15:17

Yes, exactly! Also means get to try a new park after hairdresser or physio or whatever. So satisfying to get home having ticked several boxes.

I have this, just big enough for my key and phone

I have a Compress Sport bag i use. Loads of pockets. My “go to” Bag. Use it for running and walking.

Pretend-y Flipbelt. It's brilliant, I take massive phone, keys, a few tissues, sometimes a bit of cash. Wouldn't know I had any of it.
