Strength training to complement running

I’m about to start couch to 5k (for the third time) and want to find some kind of strength programme to complement it. I used to run and then fell in love with weight training and kept in good shape but with various job changes and house moves I haven’t been as structured in it all lately. I do enjoy running but I’m not quite so good at it right now and have put on a bit of weight recently. I am looking to lose a bit of weight and be a bit more active.

That said, I am really struggling to find a plan to complement running. I would only want to train twice a week but most plans I’ve found online seem to be aimed at either going to the gym 4+ times a week or home bodyweight programmes which I don’t want. I have enough experience to write my own plan and have done this in the past but I don’t want to have to think about it. Any suggestions?

I run 4 times a week and do callisthenics once a week. I find the latter good strength training that supports my running (as there’s a lot of core and upper body). I go to a callisthenics gym but you can also do it at home.

Just seen you don’t want to do it at home. Obviously it’s the kind of thing you can do at the gym, too. Need pull-up bar and dip bars, if poss. As I say, I just do it once a week currently and it’s enough for me.
