New thread all Smile

plink I love the circuit workouts but they always fool me into thinking they are going to be easy but they hurt!! Shoulder intervals are definitely the easiest of them all and there for my favourites Grin

Reastie I totally get that feeling of going back to Les Mills workouts after a break - it is like the music gets into your bones!! I remember going back to Body Attack classes after having both DC and it was just the best feeling - even if I was doing it all low-impact. Just loved the music, moves and the energy. I really miss Body Attack classes Sad although Clubbercise does a good job of filling the hole (and the instructor teaches BA at other gyms so does occasionally throw in an old-school BA track for me Wink).

So I am back on the exercise/diet track now. Been doing a combo of CDF and Liift workouts and trying to hit all the different parts of the body. Just done MMA Power which is the longest one which probably wasn't the best idea whilst I am recovering from a cold!

Hope everyone is good Smile

Glad you’re back on it roman.
I’m back on it too. 2x 21dfx this week. It’s been ages since I did some weights so it was great to get back to it. I feel all heavy and tired (in a good way) now Smile

Well, I’m now managing some kind of exercise. Saturday I did 40 mins ba modified where needed but still jogging/doing some vaguely increased intensity moves but it was way too much and scar hurt a lot so have grudgingly banned myself from that and sticking to gentle spin and walking briskly which seems to help better. So this week I’ve done ba x1, 30 min spin x1, 35 min brisk walk x1, 15 min strength (this was all I could do before Ds moaned and was mainly squats/bridges) and hopefully spin again tomorrow.

Purple double 21df sounds good. It’s nice to be tired in a good way.

Thermo hows the cold? Sounds like clubbercise is a decent sub for LM.

Wow. Well done reastie. Sounds like a good compromise. BA must be taxing if a spin session is classed as easier. The last time I did spin I thought I was going to have a heart attack!

Did 21dfx legs yesterday then cardio today followed by some digging in the garden. Omg my bum and hamstrings are sore. I think it is not doing weights for a few weeks then going back to them. I substituted some deadlifts for the band moves and they always make me super sore. Long run tomorrow. I feel tired already and I haven’t even gone yet!

Hope everyone else is ok

Well today I’m feeling hugely positive as only 3-4 lbs away from sneaking into the healthy BMI category which was aim #1.

Did ba again yesterday (I know, I shouldn’t yet!) but took it easier (not easy though!) and was going fine with my support belt for my scar until and abs bit which I modified and doing glute bridges for some reason twinged my lower back. All okish this morning though although my ankles are hurting in a bad way (prob from having to go weirdly from taking it easy) and legs are hurting in a GOOD way as lots of squats and lunges :) Thursday did 30 min spin and properly sweated :) purple I’m very much modifying the spin and I can’t stand on the bike for hills as it’s too much for my abs. I also have a rubbish bike with only 3 working gears so it’s not a true spin experience but it’s challenging enough at this point.

Purple well done on 21df. Fwiw I often find the bands are harder than using weights. It’s hard in a different way iykwim. Depends on which band you use too as they vary in hardness. When’s you’re next run or are you just focusing on 22df? How long till the extreme marathon thingy?

Reastie that is great. Well done you! I bet it has given you a real boost. That’s funny re body attack - it has tempted you back....

My band snapped (not through my super strength I might add) and I just don’t want to buy any more stuff. I remember finding the band leg moves super hard so I’m glad I don’t have to do them! Ran 22 miles today, was pretty slow so legs feel ok. Was supposed to be 21 miles but I took a wrong turn which was annoying. My ultra is on 7 sept so I’ve got one last 20miler to go next weekend, then the taper and then the race. I will have done 1x 18miles 3x 20miles and 2x19 miles so I’m feeling pretty ready

Not long! Glad you’re feeling prepared though, I’m sure you’ll manage it fine from all the fitness you have and training you’ve done. Just think about how great you’ll feel going through that finishing line.

Hi all
It’s been quiet on here. Hope you’re all enjoying the sunshine. I’ve been plugging away at 21dfx. I’m getting stronger again which feels good. Running a bit off track as I wasn’t able to get my last long run in this weekend. Mind you, it would have been rough going given the heat so perhaps I’ve been saved from myself.
Enjoy the sunshine Smile

Gosh it is quiet on here at the moment isn't it? Shock Hope everyone is ok!

purple when is your ultra marathon? Are you nervous?

Reastie how are you getting on with your introduction back to exercise...taking it slowly I hope Wink

I am pottering along here - really struggling with diet motivation and I do not know why Sad Determined to get back on the Team RH wagon after holidays, did for a couple of weeks, lost 5lbs and then have just slipped again for the last couple of weeks (think wine, chocolate, takeaways Blush) Am too scared to weigh myself at the moment. I know it works and I know I can do it so why am I sabotaging my own efforts??

Still exercising though so that is one good point. Doing a hybrid Liift4 and CDF which is actually quite enjoyable - so picking the weights sections of Liift and then either putting 2 of those together or doing 1 and then a CDF workout.

Anyway, Autumn and Joel announced overnight that they are releasing a 21DF and Liift4 hybrid on 8 September to start on 9 September for 4 weeks - I am so excited!! My 2 favourite programmes put together Smile The video announcement was a bit unclear as Autumn said it was one of each each day (so an hours workout each day, 6 days a week, which I have no chance of fitting in) whereas Joel said that there were 2 together only on Saturdays Hmm Guess I'll find out on 8 September...anyone fancy joining me? I don't have the time to work out 6 days a week so my plan is to just go through it in order so I suspect it will take me more like 6 weeks.

I’m still here!

I haven’t posted as have been quite down about my highly anticipated return to exercise. I don’t know if I mentioned but from all the exhaustion I’ve been getting terrible IBS every single evening for a month. It’s agonising and none of my medicines have helped. So after a week of being more gentle on the exercise and that not working I’ve had a week of pretty much no exercise. I’ve been walking a bit and yesterday I did yoga but taking it very gentle. Last night, after doing nothing all day apart from a little gentle yoga, look after and feed Ds and a bit of cooking and taking an extra dose of my ibs medicine I actually had an evening with no pain! Miracle! So today i decided to try some step aerobics (because, you know, I’m rubbish at doing nothing!), let’s see how tonight goes.

Still managing atm to lose around 1lbs every week and I think now 2 lbs off sneaking in healthy bmi. 20 lbs ish and 2 dress sizes to go though.

Thermo that Joel and Jericho thing sounds good but not for me atm. I hope you get your eating mojo back, but you’re still exercising which imo is more important as you have fitness and stamina.

Purple how’s the running going? Getting back on track?

Hi!
Sorry I’ve been absent for ages. Life has got in the way a bit.
Sorry to hear re the IBS reastie. Is it the exercise which aggravates it or the tiredness? I hope the exercise today goes ok.
I’m definitely in for the Joel/Jericho hybrid. That sounds great. Sorry you’ve lost the diet motivation roman. I feel the same if it is any consolation? Maybe we could do something together? Perhaps we could agree we both do 2 wks of diet plan/new workouts to get ourselves back into it?
I’m now in the final week of taper pre ultra marathon. Taper hasn’t been great as I’ve not been logistically able to get much running in which has made me a bit worried. I know there is no training benefit to runs now so it is all psychological. I will do a short run on weds and one more 21dfx and the big race is next sat ShockShock. I’m excited but a bit nervous too

Reastie sorry about your IBS, how frustrating. I feel for you though as I suffered really badly from IBS for years and years and it had a really negative impact on my life (it made me quite introverted as I hated going out in case I got caught out on a night out). Strangely, pregnancy seemed to cure mine 13 years ago (I have absolutely no idea how or why) and I probably only get a bout once or twice a year (if that). It is so difficult if you can't work out what is causing it either.

purple good luck on Saturday - I am sure the buzz of the race will cause the adrenalin to kick in and you will find the extra distance on the day Smile

It is a Joel and Autumn hybrid (not Jericho) - still up for it? Starting on Monday but appreciate you might not be able to do anything then but it is a 4 week programme (although I am sure it is going to take me about 6) so how about we commit to 6 weeks of watching our diet and completing the programme or is that too long? I get that smaller targets work better!

So 2 nights with no ibs, hurrah, tonight it’s back :( . It’s been a busy day so I think general activity with life and exhaustion is definitely 5e trigger. Annoyingly exercise is suppose to help ibs but in my situ isn’t. Going to try getting an evening relaxing bath tomorrow in the hope but unfortunately Ds rarely goes even half an hour without me and screaming blue murder in evenings so I doubt I’ll manage it.

Hello everyone sorry I haven't been on for so long. Various bits and pieces getting in the way and I am really really struggling to motivate myself to exercise lately. Diet is also pretty crap but at least I didn't gain on holiday (got back Saturday) although to be honest it is post holiday when I always gain weight.

Roman the new workout sound brilliant! I cancelled BBOD a few weeks ago as they take payment a month before the year ends (which I find outrageous) I checked yesterday and I still have access but probably only for a few days. I haven't used it enough to justify keeping the subscription but hopefully if I get back onto it with exercise DVDs I can earn it back!

Reastie - I hope your ibs settles down but it sounds like you are doing really well getting back into exercise Star

Good luck for your final week of training and ultra marathon Purple Flowers

Plink - how is everything with you - hope you have had a good summer.

Hey everyone!!

Gosh, I'm another one where life has gotten in the way!

Hope you're all doing well!
I saw that Joel and Autumn have a Hybrid coming up. I would totally be up for an Insanity/Liift4 hybrid but I think because Insanity has been around for so long, it's a bit dated so they won't do that.

Great to see you on here @Yum !

@Reastie you sound like you're doing really well! Keep taking it easy with that wound.

I've had a 2 week break from working out. I almost finished Liift4... I stopped before the final workout. I have a weird barrier when it comes to things ending (dont know why, I do it with lots of things). But I'm starting a new round of Liift4 today 🤩🤩 so excited!

Also, we are definitely on the TTC bandwagon so hopefully baby no.2 will be on his/her way soon. I've been feeling a bit nauseous over the past few days (I got nausea pretty early on with DS) and I'm shattered. But I'm not sure whether that's because I'm just sensitive to ovulation hormones. I'm trying not to overthink it as DS was a surprise and it was nice that way (we were v lucky).

Reastie - hope you managed a cycle and if really lucky the luxury of a shower after!

Reastie · 03/09/2019 15:32

I managed 20 mins of step aerobics where Ds just sat in the bouncy chair and watched Shock . I just kept going until he started crying! My ankles are really weak though so I have to take it really easy on the step. Still, it all counts, especially when the rest of the day has been pretty much exclusively feeding on the sofa. No shower yet!

Reastie - sorry to hear you’re still struggling with the IBS. I bet exhaustion from having a small ds doesn’t help. Hang in there.

Poppy - good to hear from you. You’ve cancelled bbod Shock??? I hope the DVDs get you back into it. It’s annoying that it takes ages to make a habit and not that long to break it isn’t it? Are you feeling well again now?

Plink - all my fingers and toes are crossed for you re TTC. It’s difficult not to drive yourself mad symptom watching. I definitely did. Blush I remember suddenly gagging and thinking I was going to be sick on the tube and that’s how I knew.

I’m driving myself mad this week. Went for my last run yesterday with DH. We ended up going really fast so I feel a bit sore now (idiot) then I did loads of digging in the garden so my shoulders are sore. I’m literally self sabotaging. Must calm down and have a low activity few days before sat.

Purple you absolutely must rest! That’s an order! Can’t wait to hear how sat goes, best of luck (not that you need it) and enjoy it.

Hello hippy! Do you have plans for what to try next on bbod? We might be able to recommend something if you tell us what sort of thing you’re looking for.

Got gp apt this morning for pesky stomach pains as they’re getting worse and pretty unbearable. In the meantime the second half of this week I’m focusing on getting dd to school on time and adjusting to school run and not exercise whilst I’m still suffering as school run is exhausting enough for me. Next week I’ll do a bit more. Went into work yesterday morning to help out so that was mega tiring!

Yumy it’s funny but he did look quite interested! There’s an aerobics class near me where they have a few classes you can bring a baby /child along to sit and watch in buggies etc. I’m wondering if it might actually keep Ds amused long enough to do at least half of it, but I need to get in more of a routine first and also cross fingers he will actually start to tolerate the pram. What with that and sling avoidance my ideas of long walks are not panning out 😭

Oh Reastie that brings back memories 🙈 DS clung to me like a limpet and then went purple and screamed every evening for an hour or two. It was torture. Definitely get a bath. I used to have to wait til OH got home before I could shower. Thanks for the fx Grin I got nausea pretty bad with DS (nowhere near your levels - that was unbearable for you) so we'll see how no.2 goes.
I remember trying Tony Hortons 10 minute workouts in the early days post birth (about 4 months after) and 21DFx. The Tony Horton ones were okish but 21DFx was too much for DS. Anything longer than 20 mins away from me was too much for him. Entirely frustrating 😂 hope you manage to get what you want done.

Haha thanks yum tis very exciting. How are you feeling about getting back on the wagon? Do you feel you're getting there? If it helps I just had 2 weeks of no exercise and a bit more gluttony than usual so being strict again is proving difficult

Ouch, take it easy Purple gardening is quite a tax on the body. I hadn't done any for a while until recently and its surprising how sore it makes you. Chopping brambles with shears... my wrist and arm was killing for days after! Thanks for the crossing Grin I couldn't think of a worse place to feel sick Envy < not envy. I remember there was a guy who used to get on my bus during the first few months and he had the most disgusting aftershave. Made me want to hurl the whole hour long journey.

Hi Hippy ! Welcome to the thread! I'd highly recommend Liift4 Grin on my 2nd round of that and it's fantastic!

Oh Reastie are those pains from your wound? Hope you can get some decent painkillers to help in the meantime?
