Anyone tried Les Mills on demand?

Keep seeing an ad for this. Could be just what I need. I love body pump but haven’t found classes near me at suitable times. I’ve often done Pilates/yoga/davina DVDs - I guess my concerns with this are: do I need the full pump equipment to do it properly (thinking could start just with dumbbells, don’t have bar), is it worth the ongoing cost and is it easy to use.
Any feedback welcomed!! Thanks!

You could probably get away with using dumbbells but would probably need a few pairs of different weights as some muscle groups are much stronger than others. You would also need a bench for your chest track and possibly tricep tracks too.

On demand releases are usually a couple behind the ones on the go within clubs too so as long as you aren’t expecting it to be current release then you won’t be disappointed. I’m sure they do a free 10 day trial so give it a bash and see. It’s also a good way to try some of the other programmes that you maybe wouldn’t try otherwise, as you get them all. Good luck 😊

I love it for body combat (and I’d probably love the others if I was a bit more agile and my knees were stronger) but every time I’ve done body pump I’ve done the whole thing thinking how much easier it would be to have the proper equipment.

I have used dumbbells (having a few different weights by me) and a normal bar sometimes but it would be so much better to just be able to click the weights on and off (I haven’t been to a real body pump class for transparency, my observations are based on what they are doing)

I have it mostly for body pump. I have a cheap barbell from Argos and some dumbbells too but certainly managed with just the dumbbells at the very start. I am a beginner though.

I also do the odd Shabbam and body combat. Planning to intro a bit of the yoga-y one too.

I find it really easy to use, easier to find what I want than on YouTube and it works out about a quid a workout for me which is reasonable. I can fit it in way more than I could going to the gym so much better value given my needs.

Oh and the kids quite like the kid workouts. Dh had a go at body pump, went in way too fast and ended up trapping a nerve in his shoulder. But he is a tool.

Overall I'm a fan.

It has tons of 30minand 45 min workouts. pump... combat... cxworx... attack. Great fun.

I love it when I am in the UK. You can't join in NZ unless you are a member of the overpriced gyms, alas.

The only downside for me is that there is no bodyjam, which is such a great dance workout.
