Cambridge parkrun?

We're visiting Cambridge soon and thinking of doing one of the parkruns, our hotel is near Coldhams Common, but wondered if any Cambridge posters would recommend one over another?

And any other must do recommendations for Cambridge would be very welcome too! We've got no set plans, just a bit of mooching really.

Coldham’s Common is more of an urban park though there is a lovely bit on a “wilder” part of the common. It’s a lovely friendly parkrun but the big downside is the lack of a cafe. Cambridge parkrun is at Milton Country Park a few miles out of the city - much more rural but obviously less convenient from where you’re staying. Lovely cafe though! If you’re NT members then Wimpole parkrun is glorious. Enjoy your visit!

Great thank you, that's a perfect summation!

Not sure if the kids will join us, so if we're leaving them in the hotel, might just stay local (and have breakfast when we get back!), but if they want to come with us we might make it out to Wimpole. Not sure we're all organised enough to be up, out the door and a few miles away by 9 start though...(one of our biggest issues with our local parkruns - they're just that bit too far for us to get mobilised on a Saturday morning!).

Depending on how old they are, there’s a decent play area just by Coldham’s Common (behind the swimming pool) so that could be an option too. If I were you I’d probably make the most of your central location and not having to drive - I love staying somewhere within walking distance of a parkrun as like you I can’t normally do that!

Thank you, we did it! Kids stayed back at the hotel, but DH and I did Parkrun. I can't say I particularly enjoyed it, I'm not a fond runner, and I'm not keen on running with other people as I beat myself up about not being about to run as fast as the octogenarians Grin. 34 mins done, DH about 24 mins! Great Apple Watch stats on Saturday, approx 25k steps, 20km of walking/running.

Had a fantastic weekend in Cambridge, I'm inspired to learn a load of new stuff!!
