Hello all,
I workout at the gym 7 days a week, with a rest day just here and there when my body is really crying out for it.
I am an early morning exerciser, getting to the gym every morning at the 6.00 am opening time.
Over Christmas until 2nd January my gym is putting back opening until 7.00 am. Now call me obsessive, but I’m such a stickler for routine that the hours’ wait will really throw me out in terms of how I feel about working out, not to mention the knock-on effect for the rest of my day.
I am trying to decide whether to use a 24 hour gym for the Christmas period, and then return to my regular gym on 2nd January when normal opening resumes.......or do I use this time to take a complete rest from working out, replenish my reserves and give my body the break it probably needs? My theory is if I do that, despite the feelings of laziness and beating myself up with guilt, when I do return to the gym I should hopefully be ready and raring to go.
Or do I just go to the 24 hour gym and keep working out as I have been doing, to save my sanity and that of my long -suffering husband, who will have to cope with my moods?!
I guess in a nutshell I’m pretty terrified of putting on weight and / or losing fitness if I have a break for just over a week. Any experts out there that can put my poor confused mind at rest? Thanks!
