Anyone got a good abs and how can I achieve it without losing weight anywhere else

My other areas are lean but my belly has rolls of fat

It's VERY hard to spot reduce an area but you can enhance it by adding exercises that hit that area. We all store fat in different areas. Unfortunately you will have to get into a calorie deficit to burn more fat in that area (abs). Make sure you getting enough sleep, you're keeping a stress low as possible. And diet and exercise are on point too.

Keeping stress low is impossible as is sleep
Healthy eating no problem
What exercise s do I need to do

Mine were at their ‘best’ aesthetically when I was...

Running about 20 miles a week off road (plenty of rough ground and big hills - don’t think road running has the same effect)

Doing at least 3 lots of circuit training a week including planks, Russian twists and leg-raises (would never do these now as they are extremely hard on your pelvic floor).

Abs that look like the ‘ideal’ aren’t always very functional though, and overworking your abs in isolation can unbalance your core and lead to back/breathing/pelvic floor issues. I reckon strong all round without corrugated abs is fine!

You need to be in calorie deficit to reduce your body fat and you cannot choose where it comes off from unfortunately. No amount of ab exercise will make a jot of difference either.

Low body fat is impossible to maintain and is unhealthy to try to so. Unless your prepping for a BB comp or photo shoot abs are not necessary.

Lowering body fat takes time hiit workouts a few times a week will help but mostly it’s diet

@Strongbeatsskinny it's so annoying -i have hardly any fat on any part of my body but my stomach is saggy and has lots of rolls -I am not fat -I am 5 ft 6 and 8 and a half stone I want a belly like I had pre-pregnancy

Without physically seeing you it’s hard for me to say anything about it the only other thing it could be if your skins nice and taught everywhere else is that it’s actually loose/ excess skin and not fat.

Verbena87 · 19/11/2018 09:31

@lyndar I’m similar - 5’6” 8st 4lbs, reasonably fit (weekly Pilates, running 3x a week, walk every day), no diastis recti but my belly curves outwards and has plenty soft skin over the muscles. I really think it might just be what post-partum bodies are meant to look like 🤷‍♀️. My baby was huge and my pregnancy was long, and I think things just stretch and shift.

lyndar · 19/11/2018 11:53

@Strongbeatsskinny so how can this be sorted ❓

OP posts:
lyndar · 19/11/2018 11:55

@Verbena87 I really hate it and just can't seem to shift it
I would love to hear from anyone that has sorted their post -pregnancy problem
There seem to be plenty of celebrities who don't have this problem
What's the Secret

@lyndar I’m sure plenty of them have a litttle help, either from airbrushing, a scalpel or both.

If you mean like this I can share what I do. If not then I'll tuck myself back in and get back to work!

Sweet Lord...I need to sit up straight. And yup...I've got massive pants on today (which I rolled down for the pic!)

Verbena87 · 19/11/2018 16:23

Mine look great at the right angle and if I draw my bellybutton back towards my spine. I think that, camera angles, air brushing and scalpels might be the celeb answer.
