Eating for energy and health

I know this is the exercise thread but I didn't want to post in weight loss (I wouldn't mind loosing a little weight) but I just want to feel energized.

I work out 3-5 times per week mostly pole fitness. My diet has got terrible recently and I'm at a funny stage where I just don't know what I want to eat. I do eat meat but I don't like to eat it too often so I don't want to do low carb. I don't eat fish or chicken.

Breakfast I just don't know what to eat for good energy, I don't eat bread, I usually end up with chocolate weetabix or yoghurt.

Any tips for boosting energy with food? I would say I'm not getting my 5 a day so that's probably a good place to start Smile but all tips welcome

Porridge for breakfast?

I would usually have muesli, Greek yoghurt (real, not a Greek style), and berries for breakfast - the Greek Yoghurt really helps keep me full.

Lunch: leftovers from night before / soup / sandwich meal deal (not really the greatest choice for me!) / massive salad / poached eggs on toast with smashed avocado.

I like salads with loads of stuff in them, eg: quinoa, peas, broad beans, feta cheese, cucumber, toms, spring onions with an olive oil dressing is a favourite.

Or a cobb salad is another favourite.

Dinnner: roast / Thai curry / burgers / chilli / spaghetti Bol / salmon / chicken Kiev's / stir fry / Mac and cheese etc. Everything can be accompanied with veg.

Why don't you try Huel for one of your meals (or there are other brands I'm sure). It's a meal replacement drink and its nutritionally balanced. I have it at lunchtime and eat a proper meal in the evening. Only recently started but its definitely making a difference to my energy levels (not particularly surprising since I don't really like food very much so would frequently grab a bar of chocolate and a piece of toast). I think it works out something like 1.50 a meal.
